When put into operation, Bao Loc – Lien Khuong Expressway will become the “link” to complete the Dau Giay – Lien Khuong Expressway axis, which is over 200km long. This will be a high-speed traffic route effectively connecting Ho Chi Minh City to the center of Da Lat plateau.
Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh emphasized the significance of the Bao Loc – Lien Khuong Expressway project, and requested Lam Dong province to focus on directing investors and contractors to ensure progress, quality and safety. Lam Dong provincial authorities should consider this an important political task.
"The completion of this project will fundamentally and permanently resolve the situation of overload and frequent congestion, which is considered a "bottleneck" on the existing National Highway 20. More importantly, it not only shortens travel time but also activates and maximizes the efficiency of the sections that have been and are being invested in, such as Dau Giay - Tan Phu, Tan Phu - Bao Loc. The value of the project lies not only in its 74 km, but in the fact that it unleashes the potential for the entire strategic economic corridor of hundreds of kilometers, creating new growth momentum for the entire region," the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized.

Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh delivered a speech assigning tasks at the groundbreaking ceremony of Bao Loc - Lien Khuong Expressway. |
The Deputy Prime Minister requested the Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee to focus on directing investors, supervisory consultants and contractors to promote the highest sense of responsibility, and implement the project to ensure progress, quality and safety. Provincial leaders need to identify this as a top political task, directly direct and focus all resources to complete the site clearance for the entire 610 hectares of the project as soon as possible.
During the implementation process, the province must pay special attention to resettlement work and support for stabilizing production for the people. The province must consistently implement the Party and State's viewpoint: ensuring that the new place of residence and new livelihood of the people must be "equal to and better than the old place". This is a responsibility, as well as a sentiment towards the people, and must be done in a way that is reasonable and understandable, so that the people agree and support for the common development benefit.
Appreciating the capacity of the Investor Consortium, the Deputy Prime Minister requested the enterprises to uphold their sense of responsibility, focus all resources to organize the construction so that the project can be completed within 30 months as committed; not to let the project increase in cost, prevent negative waste, and group interests during the construction and acceptance of the project. In particular, the Permanent Deputy Prime Minister requested the people, especially those in the project area, to support and unite so that the expressway can be completed on schedule.

The Bao Loc - Lien Khuong Expressway Project is an extremely important final component of the Dau Giay - Lien Khuong Expressway , one of 10 national expressways in the Southern region. This is also a strategic artery, contributing to connecting Ho Chi Minh City - Dong Nai - Bao Loc - Da Lat and expanding to seaports such as Phan Thiet, Cam Ranh, Phu My, Long Thanh airport and the entire South Central region.
The project is 73.62km long, starting at Km126+484.93 in Loc Phat ward, Bao Loc city, coinciding with the end point of Tan Phu - Bao Loc expressway, and ending at about Km200+100, intersecting with Lien Khuong - Prenn expressway. The expressway passes through Bao Loc city and Bao Lam, Di Linh, and Duc Trong districts.
In phase 1, the highway has a roadbed width of 17m, 4 lanes, operating speed of 80km/h; the completed phase widens the roadbed to 24.75m with 4 complete lanes for complete expressway vehicles (design speed of 100km/h), with 2 emergency lanes.

The project has a total investment of about 17,718 billion VND invested by a consortium of investors including T&T Transport Infrastructure Investment and Development Company Limited - Phuong Trang Group Investment Joint Stock Company (FUTA Group) - Phuong Thanh Transport Investment and Construction Joint Stock Company. The construction period is expected to be 30 months and will be put into operation from the fourth quarter of 2027. When put into operation, the Bao Loc – Lien Khuong Expressway will become the “link” to complete the Dau Giay – Lien Khuong Expressway axis, which is over 200km long. This will be a high-speed traffic route that effectively connects Ho Chi Minh City to the center of the Da Lat plateau, helping to shorten travel time from 6 hours to about 3 hours, increasing transport capacity and reducing pressure on National Highway 20, which is already overloaded and potentially risky.
