Mr. Nguyen Cong Khiet - Director of the My Son World Cultural Heritage Management Board said that on July 2, on the occasion of working in Da Nang City, Ms. T. Ajungla Jamir - Deputy Ambassador of India to Vietnam visited and worked at My Son Temple Complex (Thu Bon Commune, Da Nang City).
This was the first time Ms. Jamir visited the World Cultural Heritage of My Son Temple Complex. She expressed her deep impression of the ancient beauty, unique historical and cultural values and the fresh, special natural space of My Son.
Deputy Ambassador Jamir congratulated the achievements in the conservation and promotion of heritage values in recent times. At the same time, he highly appreciated the effective cooperation between the My Son World Cultural Heritage Management Board and Indian experts from the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) in the restoration of the temple clusters at My Son in recent times.
The visit contributes to consolidating the close cooperation relationship between Vietnam and India in the field of cultural heritage conservation, while opening up prospects for deeper cooperation in the future.
It is known that previously, on June 22, Mr. Sandeep Arya - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India to Vietnam also directly visited the restoration site of towers E and F, which is being jointly implemented by Vietnamese and Indian experts at My Son.
Mr. Sandeep Arya also appreciated the cooperation from Quang Nam province, My Son Cultural Heritage Management Board, experts as well as local workers participating in the restoration and conservation of My Son towers E and F.
From 2017-2022, the Indian Government also sent ASI experts directly to My Son, together with Vietnamese experts to carry out the project of Preserving and restoring the K, H, A tower groups at My Son Relic Site.
This project has completed the restoration and conservation of towers K, H, A, and reinforced the architecture of A1, a My Son masterpiece. 734 valuable artifacts were discovered, including the My Son A10 altar, which was recognized as a national treasure in 2022. The zodiac road at tower K has been revealed, which is valuable for scientific research and future development.
From May 2025, the Group E, F conservation project was officially launched in My Son. The project has a total project value of 4.852 million USD from non-refundable aid from the Government of India, with the support of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), the implementation period is from 2025 to 2029.
According to the plan, the restoration process will mainly be carried out by reinforcing and preserving the original elements firmly, ensuring authenticity. In the immediate future, in 2025, the project will focus on the urgent restoration of towers F1, F2 and F3.
