The Department of Industry and Trade continues to implement the policies of the Central Government, the key tasks assigned by the Provincial People's Committee, paying attention to the tasks related to the effective exploitation of industrial clusters, developing a plan to develop a reserve system, supplying petroleum and gas at the provincial level. This is the request of Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Phuoc Hien at the working session with the Department of Industry and Trade to assess the implementation of tasks in the first 7 months of 2025, and deploy tasks for the last months of the year. Attending the working session were representatives of the Department of Petroleum and Coal ( Ministry of Industry and Trade ), leaders of departments, branches and some communes and wards in the province.
In 7 months, industrial production activities continued to record positive growth, and trade activities developed. Activities connecting supply and demand, connecting trade between regions and areas brought many results, contributing significantly to promoting the growth of the province's GRDP. The industrial production index increased by 14% over the same period last year. Total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue reached more than 76,500 billion VND, reaching 60.6% of the 2025 plan and increasing by 13.7% over the same period last year. Export turnover reached 1.66 billion USD, reaching 45.5% of the yearly plan. The Department of Industry and Trade focused on streamlining, putting the new apparatus into stable operation, closely following the contents and promptly and effectively implementing the directions of the Central and the province. Advise the Provincial People's Committee to issue mechanisms and policies on the field of industry and trade, coordinate with the Ministry of Industry and Trade to develop the Project of the National Oil Refinery and Energy Center in Dung Quat Economic Zone. Advise the Provincial People's Committee to submit to the competent authority to issue a Resolution on the list of land plots for bidding to select investors for 19 energy projects. Inspect, review, and advise the province to recover deposits for 13 small and medium-sized hydropower projects that are behind schedule and under prolonged construction. Implement solutions to continue promoting domestic market development and stimulating consumption. Step up the implementation of the peak period of the fight to prevent and repel smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods and infringement of intellectual property rights. Advise the Provincial People's Committee to direct the promotion of border trade development and export of goods to the Cambodian market.
The Department of Industry and Trade and enterprises, communes and wards propose that the Provincial People's Committee support funding for localities to invest in technical infrastructure and environmental protection infrastructure for industrial clusters. Urge industrial production projects that have been approved for investment but are slow to be implemented. Provide guidance on handling problems related to land and environmental procedures so that investors can implement projects. The Provincial People's Committee needs to propose that the Central Government consider investing in a transmission system to help investors connect 10 hydropower plants in the West of Quang Ngai to the national grid to avoid waste. Direct Quang Ngai Electricity Company to promptly consider investing in a power grid system to supply electricity to more than 550 households in remote areas that currently do not have electricity.
Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Phuoc Hien requested that in the last months of 2025, the Department of Industry and Trade continue to implement the Central's policies and key tasks assigned by the Provincial People's Committee to the industry. In particular, pay attention to tasks related to the effective exploitation of industrial clusters and construction. Plan to develop a provincial-level system of petroleum and gas reserves and supply. Strengthen market management, combat smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods. Proactively organize inspections of hydropower project safety assurance; develop emergency response plans for dams, reservoirs, and natural disasters for downstream projects during the construction of hydropower projects.
