Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Duc Hai; Secretary of the Quang Nam Provincial Party Committee - Luong Nguyen Minh Triet; Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation Le Van Dung received and worked with the Lao National Assembly delegation.
Speaking at the welcoming ceremony for the Lao National Assembly delegation visiting and working in Quang Nam, Provincial Party Secretary Luong Nguyen Minh Triet expressed his pleasure to welcome the delegation, and emphasized that Quang Nam has a close relationship with the southern provinces of Laos, which is increasingly developing and highly appreciated by the Party, State and National Assembly of the two countries.
Comrade Luong Nguyen Minh Triet said that since the re-establishment of the province, Quang Nam has made remarkable and proud progress.
The province's budget revenue increased from 100 billion VND (in 1997) to 22,000 billion VND (in 2023); in 2022 alone, it reached more than 30,000 billion VND. In that great achievement, there is the companionship and extremely large and important contribution of THACO .
Currently, THACO focuses on investing in the Southern Laos region with many large projects; therefore, Comrade Luong Nguyen Minh Triet hopes to receive the attention, support, and favorable conditions of the Party, National Assembly, Government of Laos and the Southern Laos localities, helping THACO invest effectively and increasingly develop and grow in Laos.
This makes an important contribution to the development of the Southern Lao localities in particular and Laos in general throughout the journey with Quang Nam, contributing to consolidating and tightening the special friendship and solidarity between Vietnam and Laos.
Sharing with the delegation, Mr. Tran Ba Duong - Chairman of THACO Board of Directors said that THACO started as an auto repair factory and has now become the largest auto manufacturing and assembly corporation in the country.

At the meeting, THACO continued to propose to invest in upgrading National Highway 14E and opening a route to shorten the transportation route; dredging the Cua Lo channel... to ensure the convenient transportation of goods from Southern Laos, Northeast Thailand to Chu Lai port, and establishing routes to serve the transportation of exported goods.
Lao National Assembly Vice President Sommat Phonsena thanked the leaders of Quang Nam province and THACO Group for their warm welcome; and said that through discussions and work, the delegation realized that THACO is a large, multi-industry corporation with high determination to contribute to promoting the socio-economic development in the places where the group invests.
Regarding recommendations related to projects that THACO invested in Laos, Vice President of the Lao National Assembly Sommat Phonsena said that when he returns to Vietnam, he will make recommendations to the National Assembly, the Government, ministries, branches and localities where the projects are located, to create favorable conditions for the group to implement projects and effectively produce and do business in Laos.
On this occasion, leaders of the Lao National Assembly, the Vietnamese National Assembly, Quang Nam province and THACO gave each other souvenirs.
