According to the decision, the scope of the sanitary protection zone of the domestic water intake area of the Son Thanh Water Plant (phase 1) is 800m upstream and 200m downstream from the water exploitation location located on the bank of Cai River in Dien Tho commune, Dien Khanh district. The exploitation scale with the largest flow is 25,000 m3 / day and night; exploitation mode is 24 hours / day, continuously every month of the year.
The Provincial People's Committee requests Son Thanh Water Supply and Drainage Construction Investment Joint Stock Company to coordinate with Dien Khanh District People's Committee, Dien Tho Commune People's Committee and relevant agencies to determine the boundary of the sanitary protection zone of the domestic water intake area of the project in the field after approval and announcement, report to the Department of Agriculture and Environment for monitoring and supervision according to regulations... The Department of Agriculture and Environment shall notify the sanitary protection zone of the domestic water intake area; urge, guide and supervise the implementation of determining the boundary of the sanitary protection zone of the domestic water intake area in the field. Dien Khanh District People's Committee and Dien Tho Commune People's Committee shall implement measures to protect the quality of domestic water sources; receive information and resolve arising issues related to the sanitary protection zone of the domestic water intake area of water exploitation projects in the area according to their authority.
The Son Thanh Water Plant Project was approved by the Provincial People's Committee on May 5, 2021, invested by Son Thanh Water Supply and Drainage Construction Investment Joint Stock Company and DNP Water Industry Investment Joint Stock Company (DNP Water). The project's objective is to build an advanced, efficient clean water supply system to meet the demand for clean water standards for Nha Trang City, Dien Khanh, Khanh Vinh and surrounding areas; wholesale clean water through a total meter for Khanh Hoa Water Supply and Drainage Joint Stock Company. The project plays an important role in realizing the water supply planning of Khanh Hoa province and ensuring to meet the needs within the water supply scope until 2030, with a vision to 2050.
