With a population of over 1.4 million people and about 20 million tourists /year, especially during the summer, there is a potential risk of increasing violations in food production, processing and trading. In order to protect the legitimate rights and interests of people and businesses, and to protect the security and health of the people, on June 20, 2025, the Provincial People's Committee issued Document No. 2028/UBND-VHXH on strengthening the review, inspection and handling of violations in food production, processing and trading.
Accordingly, the Provincial People's Committee requested the Provincial Police to deploy the following key contents: Coordinate with agencies and functional forces to urgently conduct a general review of organizations and individuals engaged in the production, processing, trading and transportation of food in the province such as: dietary supplements, health protection foods, medical nutritional foods; food additives; confectionery, milk and dairy products; beer, wine, soft drinks and alcoholic beverages; facilities for preserving animal meat, seafood and frozen animal products... Especially focus on reviewing localities and areas with large food consumption such as: Ha Long, Cam Pha, Uong Bi, Mong Cai, Dong Trieu, Quang Yen, Van Don; locations that are industrial parks and industrial clusters; Border areas, border gates, service and tourist areas, shopping malls, supermarkets, markets, industrial production facilities, coal industry, schools, hospitals... Pay attention to retail establishments, unofficial agents, e-commerce platforms and social networks, where there are many potential risks of counterfeit goods, goods of unknown origin, and poor quality goods to strictly handle violations according to regulations. The review process will be comprehensively inspected and handled, focusing on handling the mastermind, ringleader, main subject or neutralizing the activities of the subject and facility. Focus on detecting and combating typical cases, with the motto "handling one case, warning the whole area, no forbidden areas, no exceptions".
Regarding departments, branches and localities, the Provincial People's Committee requested to continue to review and inspect the compliance with the law for organizations and individuals engaged in food production, processing and trading within the scope of management. At the same time, closely coordinate with the Provincial Police in investigating and handling cases related to the production and trading of counterfeit goods; focus on controlling and ensuring food safety, post-inspection of compliance with food safety regulations for establishments producing, processing and trading food, advertising supplementary foods, health protection foods, etc.; organize propaganda activities, raise awareness of organizations and individuals in the area to strictly comply with the law on production, processing and trading of food products; proactively guide and request establishments and enterprises producing, trading and providing services to overcome shortcomings (if any).
