Designer Phan Dang Hoang tells the story of bringing Vietnamese fashion to Milan

At a media meeting on September 5, Phan Dang Hoang revealed that he had chosen the Royal Palace of Milan - a place closely associated with the city's development history - as the venue for the show.

The "Ceramics" collection recreates the image of Vietnamese women 100 years ago from a modern, innovative and creative perspective. Combining inspiration from the silk paintings of famous painter Nguyen Phan Chanh and the art of ceramic shaping, these designs promise to create a breakthrough in street fashion.

Phan Dang Hoang expressed that he always wants to bring the image of resilient, brave, and independent Vietnamese women in his designs.

"In the past and present, my works are inspired by Vietnamese materials such as ceramics, culture, sculpture, architecture... My biggest wish is for international friends to know about Vietnamese fashion brands," the Gen Z designer expressed.

Phan Dang Hoang said he also encountered many obstacles, from having to work remotely with a foreign crew to organizing a show at a historical location that had to go through strict censorship.

The process of creating the collection also encountered many challenges and how to create his own personal mark in each product was also something that he pondered a lot.

The designer born in 2000 confided: "This time, I went alone and brought all my luggage and works that I had prepared for many months to Milan Fashion Week Spring Summer 2025. In return, I have the strength and maturity after a process of studying and developing myself in Italy to have the first marks in my design career."

Before becoming a designer, Phan Dang Hoang was famous for his series of portraits of Vietnamese artists. In 2018, he received a talent scholarship majoring in fashion design from Nuova Accademia Di Belle Arti (NABA), an art academy in Italy, and graduated with honors.

Last May, Phan Dang Hoang made an impression when he became the only Vietnamese designer to be honored by Forbes as "Influential Artist Under 30 in Asia".

In the introduction, Phan Dang Hoang is described as a talented young Vietnamese designer, pursuing a fashion style that combines Asian and Western cultures and brings the image of Vietnamese women with his own creative techniques.
