Ninh Binh: Improving economic efficiency for international tourists

VHO - The People's Committee of Ninh Binh province has just issued a document requesting departments, branches, sectors and local authorities to strengthen state management and improve economic efficiency for international tourists.

Ninh Binh will strengthen measures to ensure security, safety and social order at tourist areas and spots to ensure a healthy tourism environment and protect tourists' rights.

Accordingly, the Ninh Binh Provincial People's Committee requested the Department of Tourism to regularly monitor the situation and promptly handle issues arising in the reception of international visitors. The Department needs to improve the quality of the tourism environment, especially in key areas, promote tourism awareness, ensure security, order, social safety, environmental sanitation and food safety.

At the same time, direct the authorities to strengthen inspection of service quality and tourism business conditions, promptly detect and strictly handle violations of the law such as price gouging, fraud, commercial fraud and illegal tour guide activities. At the same time, the Department of Tourism needs to build and improve channels to receive feedback to promptly resolve tourists' recommendations.

In addition, the Provincial Police will coordinate with the Department of Tourism and relevant units and localities to strengthen measures to ensure security, safety and social order in tourist areas and spots. The Provincial Police will closely inspect and monitor the registration, temporary residence declaration and management of foreigners in the area according to regulations.

The Ninh Binh Provincial People's Committee also requested the Department of Industry and Trade to direct the Market Management Department to strengthen inspection and supervision of sales points serving tourists, strictly handle violations in business activities of goods in tourist areas and spots, to ensure a healthy tourism environment and protect tourists' rights.

At the same time, communes and wards coordinate with the Department of Tourism and the Market Management Department to strengthen inspections and resolutely handle acts such as pressuring customers, soliciting customers to buy goods, taking photos, and asking for tips at tourist areas and attractions.

Ninh Binh Province Tourism Association needs to proactively coordinate with localities and businesses to implement tourism stimulus programs, ensure not to chase price reductions that affect service quality and actively improve product quality and diversify tourism services.

In 2024, Ninh Binh province will welcome 15.293 million tourists (of which 1.651 million are international visitors and 13.644 million are domestic visitors), with tourism revenue in 2024 reaching VND 13,392 billion. It is expected that in 2025, the total number of visitors and tourists will reach 16.2 million, including over 2 million international visitors.
