BHG - On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2025), we visited the Arts and Entertainment Department of Ha Giang Newspaper to listen to the stories of those who bring the cultural colors of ethnic groups closer to the public, through images, sounds and rare passion.
We had the opportunity to directly work with the Art Department crew to produce a special music program to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day in the Stone Plateau area. This is not only a simple television product, but also a thank you to the public - those who always follow each program, each musical performance bearing the mark of national cultural identity on the radio.

The whole group set off early in the morning. The bumpy journey through the mountains and forests did not deter the performers. Each member brought with them props, performance costumes and above all, a high sense of responsibility. Reporter Vuong Bich Hoa, who has been with the Arts and Entertainment Department for over 23 years, meticulously reviewed every detail, from the rhythm of the music to the artists' performance style to ensure the program achieved the highest quality.
“Art is not just about singing well and dancing beautifully. The important thing is to preserve the cultural essence in each performance. And to do that, we must be people who understand culture, live with culture and convey that emotion to the audience,” Ms. Hoa shared.
Under the sweltering summer sun, cameraman Vu Minh Hieu still patiently sticks to the camera, moving continuously to find the most satisfactory angles. Sweating profusely, his shirt shoulders tanned by the sun, but in his eyes is passion. “Each shot is a whole process of adjustment: from light, composition to character movement. There are times when just a fleeting moment, if you can’t capture it, you have to start over. I’m used to it, but I never dare to be subjective with any scene,” Hieu shared simply.
To ensure the progress and quality of the program, the entire crew worked through lunch. No one mentioned mealtimes, only reminding each other of each scene, each lighting detail, and the singer's expression. It was not until after 2 p.m. that the program ended, and the whole crew sat together for a late and simple lunch, but full of camaraderie and satisfaction at work.
Such trips are not uncommon. There were days when rain suddenly came, the whole crew had to cover their equipment with raincoats, and there were days when they had to work in freezing fog. But on that journey, no one ever complained, because each person had a special love for the land, people and culture at the headland of the Fatherland, and even more special, a complete love for journalism.
The Arts and Entertainment Department currently has 8 staff members, reporters, and cameramen who are in charge of producing cultural, artistic, and entertainment programs for Ha Giang Newspaper. They are the ones who tell stories through music, images, and emotions, contributing to spreading the cultural identity of the highlands to the public. From traditional art programs to modern music performances, each work requires meticulousness, creativity, and a deep love for the profession. In the increasingly fast and urgent pace of journalism, they still choose to go slowly to listen, touch the depth of culture, and tell stories with their hearts.
The 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day is an occasion to honor journalists on all fronts, from politics , current affairs to culture and art. And among them, there are those who do not appear in front of the camera, do not stand out on stage, but are always the ones who "sow emotions", tirelessly spreading the beauty of Ha Giang culture on television with all their passion and dedication to the profession.
