According to the Japanese government, its reconstruction program in Ukraine includes rebuilding infrastructure, clearing mines, expanding agriculture , improving the humanitarian situation, developing biotechnology, industry and information technology, and strengthening governance.

The Japanese prime minister added that the two countries will sign a double taxation elimination treaty and begin negotiations to amend an investment agreement to facilitate Japanese companies' participation in reconstruction projects in Ukraine.

The conference, attended by about 300 government and business officials from Japan and Ukraine, was held amid growing concerns that support for Kiev from Western countries could be waning.
