Young people spread the spirit of volunteerism
In modern life, many young people doing charity work have been adding bright colors. Charity activities have become a trend, even shaping the "way of life" of many young people. Along with constantly developing themselves, young people also learn how to "give" through healthy and meaningful charity activities. Nguyen Thi Minh Thuy (Phu Tan commune) said: "I think charity does not necessarily have to be about supporting money, but sometimes it is practical work in life and work. Relying on one's own ability to do charity work is certainly the most meaningful thing. Although young people are not rich in money, they are rich in health and heart". Each person has a different way of doing charity work from the heart, doing charity work with all their heart is what young people aim for. Le Thi Anh Thu, a student at An Giang University ( Ho Chi Minh City National University), shared: “Doing charity with all your heart not only brings joy and motivation to those in difficult circumstances, but also creates “happy hormones” that help young people like us feel more comfortable, positive, and happy. That is the true meaning of giving.”
Enthusiasm and creativity are the strengths of young people. These strengths are not only reflected in work and study, but also spread in social activities, including humanitarian and charitable activities. The way young people do charity is often linked to the nature of their work and personal passion. On the one hand, they can satisfy their emotions, achieve targets in work, study, and training, but on the other hand, through that, they also demonstrate social responsibility. Often participating in helping the charity cooking team, Nguyen Thi Quynh Anh (Cho Moi commune) shared: "The porridge portions are not of great value, but when receiving porridge, I see that everyone is very happy. Although the work is small, through volunteering sessions, I have learned more about the connection and sharing in society." Le Thanh Bach (My Hoa Hung commune) shared: “Just helping people reduce some of their difficulties is enough to give me more motivation to work when I return to my daily life. I carry the thought that working is not only to earn income for myself, but also to try to help the poor and those in difficult circumstances.”
Participating in charity work is a way for young people to affirm their social responsibility. It also increases the opportunity to experience when they come into contact with the unfortunate and difficult lives, go to remote areas, and connect with people with the same passion and interests. The way young people do it also shows the reality that anyone can do charity work and there are many ways to do it. All have the same heart of volunteering for the community. Typically, in the past, many young people have always been exemplary pioneers in the voluntary blood donation movement. It is more precious when young people donate blood not only with the enthusiasm of youth but many of them also carefully research to improve the quality of their blood drops to help patients better. Tran Minh Hoang (Long Xuyen ward) said: “I participate in every blood donation event in my locality. Before each blood donation event, I usually eat light, low-fat foods so that the blood has fewer impurities and is easier to purify. Voluntary blood donation is a good thing to help the sick and can be done anywhere.”
With the spirit of volunteerism and “mutual love”, the enthusiasm of young people has helped those with many difficulties receive support from the community. Through volunteer activities, young people not only learn solidarity and love, but also promote a sense of responsibility towards themselves, their families, and their community in accordance with the tradition of the nation.
