The Traditional Arts Theater was established on the basis of merging 3 units: Khanh Hoa Traditional Arts Theater, Hai Dang Song and Dance Troupe, and Ethnic Song and Dance Troupe (belonging to the former Ninh Thuan Province Cultural and Art Center). With a full range of performing arts from traditional to contemporary, along with a large number of artists, singers, actors, musicians, etc., it will open up new prospects for the unit's performing arts activities.

On the evening of July 10, at the ceremony to announce and receive the Certificate of ranking the Po Nagar Tower as a special national monument and the national intangible cultural heritage of Khanh Hoa Agarwood Exploitation and Processing Knowledge, singer Nguyen Tri Thuc and other singers and actors from the old Ethnic Song and Dance Troupe performed with their new colleagues. The audience watching the performances in the program almost did not see any "out of sync" between the performing members. Not only that, with the performances bearing the colors of Cham culture, the audience also felt lively with beautiful impressions. The Traditional Arts Theater is currently assigned 147 positions, of which nearly 100 people are directly involved in performing arts, the rest are in the administrative and technical departments... In terms of expertise, the unit has the art of tuong, folk songs, light music, and ethnic music. With the above number of staff and art forms, it will help the unit solve the problem of manpower shortage when staging new programs and performances. The diversity of art forms will also be a great advantage for the unit to be proactive in balancing and harmonizing traditional and contemporary performances, "rotating tours" when going on tour. According to Mr. Nguyen Ai Quoc - Director of the Traditional Arts Theater, the unit has the function of building art programs, organizing performances to serve political tasks and performing activities to meet the people's cultural and artistic enjoyment needs. Through its professional activities, the theater also contributes to propagating and disseminating the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws to the people. The unit also has the task of organizing research, preserving and promoting the traditional artistic values ​​of ethnic groups in the province...

The new geographical space of the province has brought more conditions for organizing the performance activities of the Traditional Arts Theater. Along with that, the unit will have more opportunities to introduce different art forms to people in different regions of the province. For example, the art troupes of Tuong and Bai Choi folk opera will come to perform in communes and wards in the southern region of Khanh Hoa; bring Cham and Raglai art programs and performances to serve the people of the localities in the northern region of Khanh Hoa. "From now on, when building new art programs, the unit will balance harmoniously and fully all art forms. Performance activities, from street art programs to major programs and events, will also try to have a full range of colors and different types. Touring activities will take place for longer periods and there will be rotation between the unit's art forms so that people can enjoy many new and attractive programs and performances" - Mr. Nguyen Ai Quoc said.
