The program will have main activities such as Vietnamese Cultural Space, art performances combined with the 30th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations between the two countries, Vietnam-South Africa Business Forum...

Besides activities of political and economic significance, Vietnam Day is imbued with Vietnamese cultural colors with the theme "Origin, vitality and continuity".

The performances in the art program take the audience on a one-day trip across Vietnam, from dawn in the northern mountains to the excitement of the southern lands.

In particular, the activities gather many young artisans and cultural practitioners, with high interactive experiences such as making lacquer paintings and Dong Ho folk paintings, molding To he toys, trying on and taking pictures with Nguyen Dynasty costumes, and experiencing Vietnamese cuisine .

The cultural space also displays photo exhibitions on diplomatic relations, photo exhibitions on heritage, the country and people of Vietnam, thereby portraying the image of a friendly, rich-in-identity Vietnam to international friends.

Before the event, artist Tran Anh Tuan shared: “I choose small, pretty items such as souvenirs and lacquer jewelry to guide visitors through the experience. After completion, they can use them or give them to their loved ones, through which they will continue to tell the story of Vietnamese culture.”

Mr. Hoang Huu Anh, Deputy Director of the Department of Cultural Diplomacy and UNESCO (Ministry of Foreign Affairs), Head of the Organizing Committee, emphasized: “The goal of the event is to convey the image of Vietnam, the country and its people, rich in cultural traditions but still dynamic and developing, to the public of South Africa, where Vietnam can promote cultural exchanges.

People of all ethnic groups in South Africa always want to express their own identity, which is very similar to Vietnamese culture. I believe that this event will be a bridge between the Vietnamese and South African communities."
