"Sweet fruit" from effort
A notable success in the year was that the education and training sector focused on innovating management and improving the quality of education and training. Preschooleducation has developed in all aspects. 100% of children are guaranteed physical and mental safety. Notably, 95.45% of schools apply advanced educational methods; 44.89% of schools, 18 private independent facilities organized for preschool children to get acquainted with English.
Provincial Party Secretary Le Ngoc Quang visited and presented gifts to students of Dan Hoa Primary and Secondary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities.
The sector has focused on innovating teaching methods and forms to maximize the development of students' qualities and abilities. The quality of education has made steady progress. At the primary level, 100% of educational institutions effectively implemented the 2018 General Education Program from grades 1 to 5. Compulsory subjects and educational activities such as English and Information Technology for students in grades 3, 4, and 5 were implemented synchronously.
For secondary education, schools have applied many measures to innovate teaching methods and professional group/team activities, creating conditions for teachers to exchange experiences and learn from each other. During the school year, schools implemented 534 "creative teaching" topics, 945 life skills education topics, 691 STEM lessons, organized 1,017 professional activities in the direction of lesson research, 857 inter-school activities and 1,990 demonstration teaching periods.
Talking about solutions to improve the quality of education, Vice Principal of Trung Hoa Secondary and High School Dinh Phan Thuy Yen said: In addition to enhancing professional activities in clusters and inter-schools, the school also encourages teachers to self-study and research to innovate teaching methods. Teachers always propose to school leaders good practices and new models that bring practical results in education for implementation and replication.
One of the highlights of the education and training sector in the past school year was the successful organization of the provincial science and technology competition for high school students with 76 projects, including 4 projects winning first prizes (2 out of 4 first prize projects participating in the national competition won prizes). At the national competition for excellent students in cultural subjects, the whole province had 55 prizes (including 1 first prize and 9 second prizes), the highest ever.
From the achievements and clear strategic orientation, focusing on improving the quality of the teaching staff, ensuring equity in education..., the Education and Training sector of Quang Tri (new) promises to reap many important achievements, meeting the requirements of the cause of industrialization and modernization of the homeland and country in the new period. |
Leave no one behind
In order for every student to have access to education, ensure fairness and quality, the education and training sector has had many practical solutions to support students with disabilities, students in mountainous areas, remote areas, and areas with particularly difficult socio-economic conditions. The sector has mobilized organizations and individuals to support boarding supplies, outdoor toys, learning materials, upgrading facilities, etc. to help preschools in disadvantaged areas and ethnic minority areas to organize boarding activities well for children.
At the primary level, nearly 1,000 students with disabilities have access to education through inclusive education with a curriculum and assessment built according to individual plans, suitable for the needs and abilities of each student. Some schools are also equipped with learning support equipment, arranged for specialized support teachers... to help students with disabilities easily access knowledge and integrate into the community.
Creative lessons are always attractive to students.
Many schools also sponsor and provide scholarships to students in especially difficult circumstances, typically schools such as Vo Nguyen Giap High School for the Gifted, Tran Phu High School, Tuyen Hoa High School... Every year, the Department of Education and Training also organizes visits, encouragement, and gift giving to teachers and staff in difficult circumstances, sick or ill on the occasion of Vietnam Teachers' Day (November 20); visits and gifts to students and teachers in ethnic minority areas on the occasion of the nation's traditional New Year.
In order to narrow the gap in education quality between regions, the education and training sector has implemented many synchronous solutions, such as: Building schools, upgrading facilities, classrooms, and dormitories; fully and gradually implementing policies to support ethnic minority students and cadres, teachers, and staff working in disadvantaged areas.
As a result, the rate of ethnic minority students attending school at all levels is high. The rate of preschool-age children attending school is 99.97%. 100% of schools, groups and classes with ethnic minority children implement the Vietnamese language enhancement program. 100% of students complete primary school and 98.5% of students graduate from secondary school. Many students achieve impressive results in exams to select excellent students.
Talking about caring for and supporting students in disadvantaged areas so that no one is left behind, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Xuan Tan emphasized: In recent years, the education and training sector has had many activities to encourage and support teachers and students in disadvantaged areas and pay attention to reward students with high achievements.
However, recognition should not stop at students with outstanding achievements but should be expanded and given more practical attention to poor students; students with especially difficult circumstances and students in remote areas. Because their achievements are not only the results of their studies, but also evidence of their will, determination and aspiration to overcome their circumstances.
Entering the new school year 2025-2026 in the context of merging the two provinces of Quang Binh and Quang Tri (old) into the new province of Quang Tri, the work of educational development still faces many difficulties, such as: Facilities and teaching equipment in some facilities are still lacking and not uniform; the rate of solidification of schools, especially in preschools and disadvantaged areas is still low, some places still lack teachers...
Therefore, the whole sector continues to carry out many tasks, focusing on reviewing the system of specific policy documents of the two previous provinces to supplement, adjust, and ensure consistent implementation of policies and regimes for beneficiaries in the new province. The sector also sets higher goals for education quality, continuing to develop preschool, general education, vocational education, and continuing education in a sustainable, equitable, and integrated manner.
