On the morning of November 21, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hong, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Nam province, said that athlete Huynh Do Dat had excellently won the gold medal at the 2023 World Wushu Championship, taking place in the US.
Accordingly, at the World Wushu Championship, last night (November 20), athlete Huynh Do Dat competed excellently and won the final match, winning the gold medal for the Vietnamese team in the 70 kg weight class.

Boxer Huynh Do Dat (18 years old, from Bac Tra My District, Quang Nam) is an athlete under the Quang Nam Provincial Sports Training Center. At the 2022 National Sports Festival, athlete Huynh Do Dat won a silver medal and was called up to the national team.
The 2023 World Wushu Championships will be held in the United States from November 17 to November 20. This year's tournament will bring together more than 500 athletes from 72 countries and territories.
The men's and women's taolu (performance) events each have 11 sets of medals. Meanwhile, the combat events are contested in weight classes from 48 to 75 kg, for both men and women. The Vietnamese wushu team participated in the world's largest tournament with 13 athletes.
Previously, on the second day of competition, martial artist Dang Tran Phuong Nhi represented the Vietnamese wushu team in the taolu nam con event. With an excellent performance, Phuong Nhi convinced the judges. She received the highest score and won the first gold medal for the Vietnamese team.
