Urgently fix traffic, open the way to the golden season
In recent days, the circulation of storm No. 5 has caused a lot of damage to infrastructure, especially the traffic system. On National Highway 32 (through Khau Pha Pass, Tu Le Commune), there are 20 serious landslides, the negative slope collapsed 20m long, 6m deep, causing traffic jams from Nghia Lo to Mu Cang Chai.
Pung Luong and Mu Cang Chai communes and some inter-village and inter-commune roads were eroded. Immediately after that, the communes directed local forces to urgently support people to overcome the consequences and ensure smooth traffic. At the same time, they continued to monitor the developments of floods and storms, proactively implemented the "4 on-site" motto, and promptly reported to superiors for support plans.

Ms. Dinh Thu Huong - Vice Chairman of Tu Le Commune People's Committee said: "By August 29, the landslides in the Khau Pha Pass area leading to Mu Cang Chai Commune have been basically handled, ensuring the circulation of all vehicles, including sleeper buses, serving the travel of people. Currently, the weather has become sunny, however, the subsidence points are still unstable, the roadbed is still weak, people and vehicles passing through here need to pay attention to observe and ensure safety. Ta Sung Village (former Cao Pha Commune) and the central villages of Tu Le Commune, although affected by storm No. 5, are all stable and ready to welcome tourists ; paragliding activities are expected to be held from September 13".

Similar to Tu Le commune, the routes to tourist attractions such as Mam Xoi hill, "Dinosaur spine", "pine forest, bamboo forest", "rice hammock" Mo De... have all been cleared of landslides by the Party Committee, government and people, and have been cleaned and renovated by village roads and alleys. Dangerous areas have also been inspected and warning signs have been posted to ensure safety for tourists.
Cultural and artistic activities are carefully prepared.
The ripe rice season is not only an opportunity to admire the natural beauty but also a time for tourists to immerse themselves in the unique culture of the highland people. Although affected by storms, cultural activities, arts, and traditional festivals are still carefully prepared.
On the occasion of the September 2nd holiday this year, Mu Cang Chai commune organized many activities to serve the people and tourists. Although the weather in the past few days has not been very favorable, 100 actors mobilized to participate in the art program "The Golden Color of the High Mountains - The Echo of the Fatherland" taking place on the evening of August 30th, still enthusiastically practiced.

Banners, slogans, and red flags have been replaced, turning the whole area bright red. Mr. Le Xuan Duong - Head of the Department of Culture and Society of Mu Cang Chai commune said:
“In addition to the art program taking place on the evening of August 30, the commune also assigned villages to form teams to compete in panpipe dancing, using beeswax to create patterns on fabric, pounding rice cakes, etc., encouraging people to actively practice and prepare conditions and tools to participate in the competitions on August 31 - September 2. At the same time, Mu Cang Chai invited neighboring communes such as Khao Mang, Lao Chai, Pung Luong, etc. to participate in the competitions, creating an exciting competitive atmosphere among the people. Up to now, from the commune to the villages, all have completed the preparations and are ready for the Independence Day festival.”

Pung Luong, Lao Chai, and Khao Mang communes also simultaneously organized cultural and artistic activities, imbued with national cultural colors, meaning of turning to the Fatherland, gratitude, and national pride. Panpipe dancing competitions, ethnic costume competitions, highland fairs, etc., along with traditional performances of ethnic minorities, were held from August 30 to September 2, promising to bring visitors interesting experiences, helping them understand more about the lives and cultures of the indigenous people.
Accommodation facilities are ready to welcome guests

After the stormy days, accommodation establishments have proactively checked the electricity and water systems, decorated the rooms and prepared necessary conditions to welcome and serve tourists.

Mr. Thao A Su in Ta Chi Lu village, Pung Luong commune said: "To prepare for the September 2nd holiday this year, in addition to cleaning and rearranging accommodation, I have linked up with local households to find fresh, clean food sources to prepare local specialties, organize breakfast in buffet form for tourists; renovate the green, clean campus with many flowers and trees, and add beautiful miniature landscapes to serve the check-in needs of tourists."
For guests who cancel early due to concerns about storms, I will also refund the deposit or reserve the deposit if the guest wants to change the schedule. I hope that guests will have a wonderful experience when coming to Mu Cang Chai and ensure that guests staying at A Su's house are staying at a 0-star house but ensuring 3-star service or higher.

In addition, the Raspberry Hill Tourism Cooperative has also hired more staff to guide tourists to the Raspberry Hill tourist attraction on this occasion; organized weeding, environmental sanitation, and ensured cleanliness of the roads up and down the tourist attraction.
Director of the La Pan Tan Raspberry Hill Tourism Cooperative, Ly A Do, confided: “The 5 hectares of terraced fields in the Raspberry Hill area are used to grow rice and flowers, and are currently growing green and beautiful. We have completed the listing of service prices according to regulations such as: entrance fee is 40,000 VND/person, free for children under 1.2 meters; motorbike taxi fare is 100,000 VND/person (2 ways). At the same time, the organization worked with members of the motorbike taxi team to thoroughly understand the operating regulations with the following commitment criteria: no soliciting, no luring customers; transparent prices, clearly listed; local drivers with driver's licenses, knowledgeable about the roads, and enthusiastic support for tourists”.

In recent years, tourism in Mu Cang Chai area has become a key economic sector, receiving attention from the government and people to develop in the direction of professionalization and improving the quality of products and services.
Before the tourist season, localities simultaneously organized meetings with accommodation establishments, restaurants, porters, and motorbike taxi drivers in the area to thoroughly grasp and sign commitments to implement the following contents: not to increase prices, post prices and hotlines according to regulations; ensure a clean environment before welcoming guests, ensure sufficient operating conditions according to regulations (business registration, tax code registration, food safety certificate, fire prevention and fighting training certificate, etc.), declare accommodation, welcome guests in a civilized and friendly manner, creating a good impression in the hearts of tourists.
Therefore, even homestays and restaurants built and operated by locals have significantly improved their services, ensuring compliance with legal regulations.
In particular, homestay and restaurant owners proactively cooperate with local porters and tour guides to create tours and travel itineraries that are specifically designed to suit the ages and needs of tourists; cooperate with some households to organize experiences of the indigenous Mong people's life such as: reclaiming terraced fields, plowing fields, harvesting rice, painting patterns on fabric with beeswax, weaving brocade, pounding rice cakes, etc.

These experiential tours are all specifically planned, ensuring to bring the most authentic experiences to visitors.
Ms. Hoang Thi Trang, a tourist from Nam Dinh shared: “It has been many years since I returned to Mu Cang Chai, everything has changed so much. The rooms are more beautiful and cleaner. There are more tours for tourists to choose from. And the service is much more professional and modern. Only the people here are still the same, friendly and approachable. I really like this change.”
Although storm No. 5 has caused certain difficulties, with the joint efforts and consensus of the authorities and people at all levels, the golden season of Mu Cang Chai is still shining. Everything is ready to welcome visitors to a ripe rice season filled with wonderful experiences.
