The new Mitsubishi Grandis 2025 is considered a rebranded version of the Renault Symbioz when using the same CMF-B platform and has many similarities in design. The car has dimensions of length x width x height of 4,413 x 1,797 x 1,575 mm and a wheelbase of 2,638 mm. Although sharing the platform and many details with Renault Symbioz, Mitsubishi Grandis 2025 still has some subtle adjustments to create its own brand mark. The front of the car stands out with a glossy black grille combined with silver-plated details, giving a more modern and premium feel.
The headlights share the overall design with the Symbioz, but the LED daytime running lights have been tweaked, giving the Grandis a distinctive look. The bodywork is largely unchanged from the original model, save for the 19-inch alloy wheels and the “HEV” badge on the front doors, emphasizing Mitsubishi’s hybrid powertrain identity. The rear of the car shows a more sporty style with a newly designed taillight cluster, inspired by the high-performance Mitsubishi Evo line. However, the rear bumper still retains the fake air vent design, similar to the prototype from the French partner. On the 5-seat version, the 2025 Grandis still optimizes space with the second row of seats that can slide up to 160 mm. The luggage compartment can be expanded from 434 liters to 566 liters when pushing the rear seats forward and up to 1,455 liters when folding the seats. The hands-free electric tailgate is also a notable plus: the user just needs to bring the key and put his foot under the rear bumper, the trunk will automatically open.
The car has modern amenities such as: 10.4-inch vertical touch screen, integrated Google operating system with Google Assistant, Google Maps, Google Play and wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto support. In addition, users can control the car remotely via the Mitsubishi Motors application, including vehicle location and remote locking/unlocking. The car has four driving modes: Perso, Eco, Comfort and Sport, adjusted via the central screen, suitable for many different operating conditions. Another highlight of the Grandis 2025 is the panoramic sunroof with electronic color switching capability. Users can choose to switch from transparent to dark to reduce heat and glare, and even separate zones for the front and rear, adding comfort and personalizing the experience. Powering the car are two hybrid and mild-hybrid engine options.
The mild-hybrid version uses a 1.3L gasoline engine, 138 horsepower, 6-speed manual transmission or 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The remaining version is a full hybrid (HEV) consisting of a 1.8L naturally aspirated engine combined with two electric motors, a multi-mode transmission and a 1.4 kWh lithium-ion battery. This system gives a total capacity of 154 horsepower. In terms of safety equipment, Mitsubishi Grandis owns an advanced driver assistance system including: adaptive cruise control, Mi-Pilot, blind spot warning, forward collision warning, lane keeping assist and many other safety features. The car is expected to be launched in European countries from the end of this year.
