PSG beat Inter Miami, Messi quietly left the field

In Atlanta, PSG had no trouble facing Inter Miami – the team currently ranked sixth in the MLS Eastern Conference.

It took just six minutes for Joao Neves to open the scoring with a close-range header from Vitinha's pass. In the 39th minute, the Portuguese midfielder completed his double with a cool shot after a beautiful combination between Barcola and Fabian Ruiz.

Three minutes later, Inter Miami defender Tomas Aviles put the ball into his own net while trying to clear a cross from the right wing by Doue.

Before half-time, Achraf Hakimi scored PSG's fourth with a decisive rebound after his initial shot was denied by the crossbar.

In the second half, PSG took the initiative to slow down the tempo but still completely controlled the game. Lionel Messi tried hard to find an honorary goal with four shots (including two shots on target), but the French team's defense remained firm.

Inter Miami failed to score, ending the 0-4 defeat. This could be the last time Messi plays in front of a global audience at club level, if he does not continue playing until the 2026 World Cup.

Immediately after the final whistle, when asked about Messi's performance, Zlatan Ibrahimovic gave his opinion: "It shouldn't be called Messi's failure. He didn't lose - Inter Miami was the team that lost to PSG."

Having played alongside Messi at Barcelona and then as a one-time icon at PSG, Ibrahimovic did not hesitate to give his harsh opinion on the quality of the current Inter Miami squad.

“Watching Inter Miami play, I feel like Messi is playing among statues. They are not teammates, he is fighting alone in the desert,” Zlatan said, before concluding meaningfully: “Put Messi in a real team, like PSG, Manchester or any big team, and you will see a real lion.”

Bayern defeated Flamengo

In Miami, Bayern Munich showed their superior attacking power. In the 6th minute, Flamengo midfielder Erick Pulgar scored an own goal after a corner kick by Kimmich.

Three minutes later, Harry Kane increased the score to 2-0 with a low shot from outside the penalty area, the ball lightly touched a Flamengo defender and changed direction, leaving the goalkeeper helpless.

In the 33rd minute, Gerson reduced the gap for Flamengo with a powerful long-range shot. However, just five minutes later, Leon Goretzka restored the two-goal gap with a shot from outside the box, the ball went unpredictably, leaving goalkeeper Rossi no time to react.

Early in the second half, Flamengo scored another goal to reduce the score to 2-3 after Jorginho's successful penalty kick.

Earlier, Michael Olise handled the ball in the penalty area. However, in the 72nd minute, Kane scored the second goal of the match, sealing a 4-2 victory for Bayern.

After convincing victories, PSG and Bayern will face each other in the most anticipated quarter-final match of the Club World Cup 2025.

The two teams met in the 2020 Champions League final and have clashed several times in recent knockout rounds. With an even cast of stars and consistent form, this confrontation promises to be a top-notch match between two European football powers.
