This is an activity to promote and introduce typical characteristics of martial arts schools, martial arts schools, and martial arts clubs originating from Binh Dinh.
Officially taking place from July 3 to 10, this year's martial arts tournament has the participation of more than 655 martial arts masters, coaches, students, and athletes from 64 martial arts schools and clubs.
The tournament has added more age categories and competition content compared to previous tournaments, specifically: In the competition content, there are 15 weight categories for the age group 18-40, 15 weight categories for the age group 15-17 and 10 weight categories for the age group 13-14 for both men and women.
In boxing, there are 32 sets of medals in four age groups: 6-10; 11-14; 15-17 and 18-40 for both men and women.
In his opening speech, Deputy Director of Gia Lai Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Bui Trung Hieu - Head of the Organizing Committee of the tournament emphasized that Binh Dinh Traditional Martial Arts was born, existed and developed with the history of the nation's struggle to build and defend the country.
Through many generations of preservation, integration, enrichment and elevation, Binh Dinh Traditional Martial Arts has developed and spread widely, crystallizing the quintessence of national values, becoming a system of typical values of Binh Dinh land, a cultural element with strong identity, deeply rooted in the spiritual life of every citizen.
March 31, 2025 is a very meaningful day for Binh Dinh Traditional Martial Arts. The Prime Minister has agreed to allow the submission of the dossier to the United NationsEducational , Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) for consideration and inclusion of the intangible cultural heritage of Binh Dinh Traditional Martial Arts in the Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
This is a very encouraging signal for Binh Dinh Traditional Martial Arts. It is not only a source of pride and momentum to bring national heritage to the international level, but also raises the community's sense of responsibility in preserving and conserving the cultural values of the nation.
Along with the conservation work, the Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Gia Lai also said that the promotion of Binh Dinh traditional martial arts has also been promoted through domestic and international programs and tournaments. The programs "Binh Dinh Martial Arts Night", "International Festival of Vietnamese Traditional Martial Arts" have contributed to widely promoting Binh Dinh traditional martial arts to domestic, regional and international friends.

According to Mr. Bui Trung Hieu, starting from 2024, in order to create a strong development step, expand the scale into a regional tournament in the Central Highlands and advance to the national level according to the plan to preserve and promote Binh Dinh Traditional Martial Arts until 2025, the Provincial People's Committee has agreed on the policy of the Traditional Martial Arts Tournament of Binh Dinh Martial Arts Schools competing for the Emperor Quang Trung Cup as a traditional tournament held annually.
Through the tournament, it is also an opportunity for teachers, martial arts masters, and coaches of clubs and martial arts schools inside and outside the province to exchange experiences and martial arts expertise as a premise to focus on building Binh Dinh Traditional Martial Arts to develop more comprehensively and become stronger.
