Regarding the food poisoning incident that occurred in Chro Pônan village, Ia Hiao commune (Gia Lai province) that caused hundreds of people to be hospitalized, the Gia Lai Department of Health said that so far, the authorities have not been able to determine the cause because they have not collected food samples at the party for testing.
As of the morning of September 1, related to the suspected poisoning incident in Chro Pônan village, Ia Hiao commune, there were 151 cases hospitalized, of which 93 patients were discharged, and 40 cases are still being treated.
At Phu Thien Medical Center, there were 60 patients hospitalized (23 children, 6 people over 60 years old; the youngest case was only 23 months old). Through treatment, by the morning of September 1, 55 patients were discharged from the hospital, with stable health. Currently, 5 patients are continuing treatment at the Internal Medicine-Infectious Diseases Department with good health progress, expected to be discharged on September 2. During their hospitalization, Phu Thien Medical Center provided free meals and when discharged, they were arranged to be taken home by car.
At Ayun Pa Medical Center, there were 91 cases of hospitalization related to this party. As of the morning of September 1, 38 patients had been discharged, the remaining 35 cases were continuing treatment. Of these, 14 were children, 6 were over 60 years old. Currently, the patients' health is basically stable, and they are being monitored and treated actively by doctors.
Immediately after receiving the information, the local health sector coordinated with the government and relevant agencies to urgently conduct an epidemiological investigation and trace the source. However, because food samples from the housewarming party could not be collected, determining the cause of the poisoning was difficult.
Previously, after a housewarming party at Mr. K.D's family (Chrôh Pơnan village, Ia Hiao commune), 131 people had symptoms of vomiting, stomachache, fever... and had to be taken to medical facilities for treatment.
According to the investigation by the authorities, the food at the housewarming party was provided by the business of Ms. Nguyen TH (Thanh Binh village, OIa Hiao commune). The menu included: dumplings, spring rolls, grilled meat, spring rolls, beef dipped in bitter melon, honey roasted chicken, double happiness sticky rice, stir-fried pork with lemongrass and chili, beef salad, seafood hotpot, fresh noodles, yogurt, beer, soft drinks and ice cubes./.
