To celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2, Voice of Vietnam is producing a special political program “The Great Journey” lasting up to 80 hours, vividly recreating historical stages through memories, stories and songs that have accompanied the years.
Starting at 6am on August 31, the program has the theme “Revolutionary Autumn,” recalling the sacred moment of the nation. In the historic Autumn of 1945, the entire Vietnamese people united in heart, effort, and unity, rose up to overthrow colonial rule, break the chains of slavery, and regain independence for the Fatherland.
The August flame guides the Vietnamese people on a new journey – “The Journey to Freedom.” That is also the theme of September 1. With the participation of historians, researchers, and veterans who have experienced the fire and bullets of the two resistance wars against French colonialism and American imperialism, they contributed to recreating the arduous but glorious journey of the Vietnamese people in the 20th century to regain independence, freedom, and national unity.

On September 2, Voice of Vietnam will bring to listeners the sounds of a great historical day - the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. From 6:30 to 10:00 am, there will be a live broadcast of the Parade and March. A "radiant Vietnam" - a dynamic Vietnam, resilient in overcoming challenges, making its mark on the international arena with intelligence, courage and compassion will be portrayed on the radio waves of Voice of Vietnam at all times on September 2.
“Welcome to the new era” is the theme of September 3 with the participation of experts, managers, and businessmen, further affirming the values that make Vietnam confidently step into the future with aspirations to reach high.
According to Deputy General Director of Voice of Vietnam Pham Manh Hung, generations of fathers and brothers have fallen so that we can live in peace today. In that pride, each Vietnamese person feels even more obliged to live a more worthy life, contribute to the homeland, preserve and develop the values that have been built with blood and sweat.
From the glorious past to the brilliant present, Vietnam is continuing to write new pages of history with its own national strength and the power of the times./.
