The AVP website reported that the Russian army destroyed 7 artillery pieces and 2 rocket launchers of Kiev forces in the special military operations area using Lancet drones.

On May 14 and May 17, videos of the strikes appeared on social media. The strikes destroyed or damaged a US-made M777 155mm towed howitzer, a Ukrainian-made Burevia 220mm multiple rocket launcher, and a Czechoslovakian-made RM-70 rocket launcher.

The moment Russian aircraft accurately attacked targets in the special military operations area.

The Lancet was developed by ZALA Aero, a subsidiary of the Kalashnikov giant. The company has produced two versions: the Izdeliye-52, which has an endurance of 30 minutes and a 1 kg warhead; the Izdeliye-51, which has a longer endurance of 40 minutes and is equipped with a 3 kg warhead.

The Lancet drone flies toward the designated area using a GLONASS-assisted inertial navigation system. Once in the area, the operator uses the onboard electro-optical system via a two-way data link to detect, track, and lock onto the target. A laser ranging system then controls the detonation of the warhead.

Lostarmour.info, a website that tracks and records military casualties, reported 69 Lancet suicide drone strikes on Kiev’s artillery pieces and another 12 on missile launchers. Most of the strikes destroyed or damaged their targets.

Kiev has received more than 800 artillery systems from the US and other allies since Russia began its special military campaign. However, its forces are still struggling to match the firepower and accuracy of Russian weapons.
