Results from efforts
At Battalion 4 of the 293rd Engineer Brigade, lush green vegetable beds are systematically planned on the land around the barracks. Bok choy, Malabar spinach, amaranth, and many varieties of beans, squash, and luffa... are grown on a trellis system that utilizes the pond surface to save space. Next to the vegetable garden is the unit's intensive fish pond system, which is well cared for and stocked with many fish species such as tilapia, grass carp, and common carp... The livestock and poultry farming area is also planned in a suitable location, maintaining hundreds of poultry and a herd of pigs that are rotated 3-4 times a year, helping to make full use of leftover food; contributing to providing a rich source of fresh food in the soldiers' daily meals. Soldier A Chao (Squad 3, Platoon 6, Company 10) shared: "Taking care of the vegetable garden helps us both exercise and have a source of fresh food for our daily meals."

These results were achieved thanks to the silent efforts of each officer and soldier. Taking advantage of breaks and days off, everyone actively joined hands to reinforce pond banks, repair barns, maintain irrigation systems, take care of vegetable gardens, livestock and poultry, and make use of all available resources to achieve the highest efficiency.
Not only Battalion 4, but also throughout the 293rd Engineer Brigade, the production increase movement in recent times has always been promoted effectively by taking advantage of the natural strengths of each station. To achieve high efficiency, each unit has fully utilized the strengths of the soil where it is stationed, actively renovating the system of ponds, gardens, trellises, and barns to suit the reality. Construction teams have also actively maintained on-site production, helping food sources to be self-sufficient, low-cost, and suitable for the conditions of performing tasks far from the unit.
