The battle of two generations of volleyball
The Vietnamese women's volleyball team with outstanding faces Tran Thi Thanh Thuy, Nguyen Thi Bich Tuyen, Doan Thi Lam Oanh, Nguyen Khanh Dang will face the U.21 Vietnam team of the next generation Dang Thi Hong, Pham Quynh Huong, Nguyen Phuong Quynh in the quarterfinals. This is considered a confrontation between two generations of Vietnamese women's volleyball talents. This year, the Vietnamese team won a ticket to the World Volleyball Championship, while the youth team also won the right to participate in the U.21 World Cup.

With superiority in many aspects, especially in terms of courage and experience, the Vietnamese team is rated higher than the U.21 team. Therefore, it is likely that coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet will give all the players a chance to play in order to maintain their excitement for the semi-finals.
What experts are interested in is how U.21 Vietnam will perform against their seniors. 19-year-old talent Dang Thi Hong, the Vietnamese hitter who scored the most points in the group stage (67 points), more than both Bich Tuyen and Thanh Thuy, is expected to maintain her form. She is considered a version of Bich Tuyen, promising to go far in the future. In addition, 17-year-old talent Pham Quynh Huong is also attracting attention when promoting her physical advantage (1.85 m tall) to launch effective attacks. 20-year-old middle blocker Nguyen Phuong Quynh played bravely and made an impression in the match against defending champion Korabelka (Russia) and also promises to have shining moments when competing with her seniors.
Fierce competition
Apart from the quarter-final match between the Vietnamese team and the U.21 Vietnamese team and the match between Korabelka Club and the Australian team with a clear advantage for the Vietnamese team and Korabelka Club, the remaining two quarter-final matches are considered evenly matched.
The Taiwanese team had an impressive performance when they finished second in Group B, losing only to Korabelka Club, while Sichuan Club (China) finished third in Group A after losing to Vietnam and the Philippines. However, with a squad of experienced players, a fiery fighting spirit and flexible improvisation, Sichuan Club is expected to surprise its opponents. Whoever wins this match will likely face Vietnam in the semi-finals.
The remaining quarterfinal match between the Philippines and the U.21 Thailand team is also unpredictable. The Philippines team played a "transformation" in this year's VTV Cup international women's volleyball tournament thanks to the first use of two naturalized players, Van Sickle Brooke and Phillips Mar Jana. In the group stage, they caused difficulties for the host Vietnam and had an impressive victory over the Sichuan club. Meanwhile, the U.21 Thailand team with a young talent squad was supplemented by two experienced players, main striker Kuttika Kaewpin and opposite player Nathimar Kubkaew. The disadvantage for the U.21 Thailand team was that at the end of the group stage, captain Nathimar Kubkaew had to say goodbye to his teammates and return home to focus on the national team. Therefore, with the current balance of power, the U.21 Thailand team and the Philippines team promise to create a fierce match. The winner of this quarterfinal match will most likely meet the defending champion Korabelka in the semi-finals.
