The 2026 Asian Women's Championship qualifiers officially kicked off on June 23. The 32 teams were divided into eight groups, playing a round-robin format. The top teams in each group will qualify for the finals, scheduled to be held in Australia in March next year.

In Group E, the Vietnamese women's team will play at home in Viet Tri ( Phu Tho ). This promises to be a huge advantage for coach Mai Duc Chung's team. Huynh Nhu and her teammates will face Maldives (June 29), UAE (July 2) and Guam (July 5).

Facing opponents who are rated lower, the Vietnamese women's team of course aims to win the top spot in the group, thereby continuing to participate in the biggest playground in the continent. Since the beginning of May, the female Golden Star Warriors have gathered in Hanoi to review and stabilize their forces.

In addition to a well-planned training plan, the Vietnamese women's team is also looking for quality "green troops" to test themselves. The friendly match with Europe's top women's club, Werder Bremen, offers a great opportunity to compete.

The team then went through a 10-day training trip in Osaka (Japan), where coach Mai Duc Chung's players achieved very positive results, 2 wins and 1 draw. "The whole team maintained their form, had good tactical awareness, followed the training plan and showed high fighting spirit," the coach born in 1951 shared.

The current squad of the Vietnamese women's team still mainly consists of pillars that are all too familiar to fans such as Huynh Nhu, Kim Thanh, Hai Yen, Tuyet Dung, Bich Thuy, Chuong Thi Kieu, Duong Thi Van, Hoang Thi Loan... and at the same time, a few potential young faces such as Minh Chuyen and Vu Thi Hoa were added.
