Consulting on land prices and compensation plans for the Ho Chi Minh City – Moc Bai expressway project, section through Ben Cau district

On the morning of June 17, at the Cultural, Sports and Community Learning Center of An Thanh Commune, Ben Cau District, a public meeting was held to collect opinions on specific land prices and draft compensation, support and resettlement plans for the Ho Chi Minh City - Moc Bai Expressway project, section passing through Ben Cau District.

People of An Thanh commune whose land is affected express their opinions and recommendations.

Component 4 of the Ho Chi Minh City – Moc Bai Expressway Project, the section through Tay Ninh province, is about 26 km long, of which the section through Ben Cau district is 2.2 km long; 6 organizations and 124 households in An Thanh and Loi Thuan communes are affected, with 20.55 hectares of land to be recovered.

There are 43 households affected in terms of housing, of which 23 households have houses for the right purpose, 20 households build houses on agricultural land, and 14 households need houses for resettlement.

The total estimated compensation for the section through Ben Cau district is nearly 304.9 billion VND, of which, land is nearly 236.2 billion VND; houses - architectural works are nearly 13.8 billion VND; crops are nearly 1.9 billion VND; policy support (stabilizing life, vocational training, moving and self-settlement of people...) is nearly 20.3 billion VND and other organizational and contingency costs are nearly 32.6 billion VND.

At the meeting, organizations and households whose land is affected by the Ho Chi Minh City - Moc Bai expressway project through Ben Cau district had more than 10 opinions and recommendations focusing on land prices (rice fields and residential land), houses, structures, and crops that are not consistent with market prices; some issues regarding measurement and statistics of structures are not true to reality; nearly 2/3 of the residential land area recovered is only compensated, the remaining small area is not suitable for people to build houses; compensation land price for resettlement support...

Mr. Le Trung Kien - representative of Tay Ninh Province Investment and Construction Project Management Board (project investor) responded to the opinions of people in An Thanh and Loi Thuan communes, whose land is affected by the Ho Chi Minh City - Moc Bai expressway project.

Responding to people's opinions, Mr. Le Trung Kien - representative of Tay Ninh Provincial Investment and Construction Project Management Board (project investor) informed about the implementation status of component project 4 "Compensation, support, resettlement of Ho Chi Minh City - Moc Bai expressway project through Tay Ninh province"; at the same time, requested the District Land Fund Development Center to receive and record opinions and recommendations to create consensus and high agreement of people in implementing the compensation, support, resettlement plan and the Ho Chi Minh City - Moc Bai expressway project to be implemented on schedule.
