Lam Ha joins hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses

Responding to the movement "Join hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses" launched by the Prime Minister, Lam Ha district has been speeding up the construction and repair of houses for people with revolutionary contributions, poor and near-poor households in the area with the highest determination, contributing to ensuring social security and improving people's lives.

The program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses has been implemented synchronously and effectively by Lam Ha district.

In 2025, Dinh Van town received 130 million VND, reaching 31% from the Fund for "Eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses". Thereby, the locality has screened 45 households; of which, 2 households are eligible for new land and 10 households are in the process of completing procedures for donating and transferring land in need of support to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses. Since the beginning of the year, the whole town has built 2 new houses. In addition, through screening, there are 33 poor and near-poor households in need of building new and repairing houses but have difficulties with land such as: land without residential land, land in areas not planned for residential land, rice land, land in the name of others, land without a certificate...

According to Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Son - Chairman of Dinh Van Town People's Committee, with the determination to complete the program soon, the locality has mobilized resources and support from the community to help households with housing difficulties live in solid houses. Families receiving support are very excited about this policy. However, in implementing the program, the locality still faces certain difficulties such as limited mobilization of support capital. Some households in the economic difficulty support category do not have additional counterpart funds for the house building process, affecting the progress. In addition, there are some cases that are still stuck in land procedures.

Identifying the joint effort to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses as a special political task, and at the same time a major policy with profound significance in ensuring social security, creating a driving force to promote economic development, contributing to improving the quality of people's lives, in recent times, Lam Ha district has been focusing on building and repairing houses for people with revolutionary contributions, poor and near-poor households in the district. Recently, Lam Ha district organized a program to give support money to build temporary and dilapidated houses for 42 households. At the program, comrade Nguyen Van Tan - Standing Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Lam Ha district shared: "For families receiving support money to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses, I hope that this will be a necessary condition for households to have safe and secure housing, contributing to improving the quality of life and sustainable poverty reduction. Eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses not only improves living conditions but also motivates poor households to rise up and be more independent in life, but also contributes to building Lam Ha district to develop sustainably". He also emphasized that the units and localities in the district are promoting the implementation of the Program to Eliminate Temporary and Dilapidated Houses in the past time with remarkable results. In particular, organizations and units have shown initiative, responsibility and high determination of Party committees, authorities, Fatherland Front and mass organizations at all levels in implementing the program. Thereby, local leaders requested that in the coming time, units and localities need to continue to promote the tradition of solidarity, overcome difficulties, and be determined to successfully implement the goals and plans to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses that have been set.

Comrade Hoang Son - Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Lam Ha district said that recently, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Lam Ha district has launched a call for businesses, philanthropists, people from all over the country, all cadres, members, union members and people to join hands to contribute and support to strive to achieve the goal of soon completing the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in the area. Thereby, from the beginning of 2025, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Lam Ha district has actively coordinated with the Steering Committee for the elimination of temporary houses of the district and communes and towns to review, make a list and complete the dossier. As of May 13, the whole Lam Ha district has supported the construction of 172 new houses with a total cost of more than 10.4 billion VND; repaired 18 houses with a cost of 840 million VND.

Accordingly, Lam Ha district mobilized various funding sources from the gratitude fund; the district's temporary housing elimination fund; funds from the National Target Program on Socio-Economic Development of Ethnic Minority and Mountainous Areas; and from contributions and support from local people and businesses.

“In the coming time, localities and socio-political organizations in the area will continue to enhance their sense of responsibility, focus on leadership, direction, and effectively implement the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses. From there, mobilize individuals, businesses, and philanthropists to join hands in the spirit of solidarity, “Love others as you love yourself”, “Help each other”. At the same time, step up propaganda about the purpose and meaning of the program so that each cadre, party member, and citizen can join hands to respond”, said the Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Lam Ha district.
