On the morning of July 18, world oil prices increased slightly, Brent oil increased by 1 USD/barrel, equivalent to 1.46%, to 69.52 USD/barrel; WTI oil increased by 1.16 USD/barrel, equivalent to 1.75%, to 67.54 USD/barrel.
According to Reuters, world oil prices jumped after oil fields in Iraq's Kurdistan region were attacked by drones for the fourth consecutive day. This shows that tensions in the region have not cooled down. According to statistics, drone attacks on oil fields in Iraq's semi-autonomous region in recent days have caused oil production in this region to decrease by 140,000 - 150,000 barrels/day. That is, more than half of the normal output of about 280,000 barrels/day.
Comments are that oil supplies are vulnerable if these attacks continue. In addition, the market is also becoming more unstable due to the upcoming tariff measures that US President Donald Trump is about to apply. Comments imply that crude oil supplies from the two major markets in Asia, India and China, may be changed, instead of from the Middle East, possibly from the US.

Thus, in the short term, oil prices will continue to fluctuate due to uncertainty over the final decision on US tariffs and especially their impact on global growth.
Domestically, yesterday afternoon (July 17), gasoline prices were adjusted down slightly. Accordingly, the price of E5 RON92 gasoline decreased by 178 VND/liter, RON95-III gasoline decreased by 165 VND/liter; diesel oil price decreased by 38 VND/liter; fuel oil decreased by 85 VND/kg; only kerosene increased by 58 VND/liter. In this adjustment period, the Ministry of Finance - Industry and Trade also did not spend/deduct from the Gasoline Price Stabilization Fund.
On the afternoon of July 17, an update from Petrolimex showed that the balance of the Petroleum Price Stabilization Fund of this enterprise was more than 3,000 billion VND.
On the morning of July 18, after adjustment, Petrolimex's retail gasoline prices announced in markets in region 1 (near ports, warehouses, refineries...) were as follows: RON 95-V gasoline 20,250 VND/liter, RON 95-III gasoline 19,920 VND/liter, E5 RON92 gasoline 19,480 VND/liter, 0.001SV diesel 18,990 VND/liter, kerosene 18,420 VND/liter, fuel oil 17,890 VND/kg (wholesale price)./.
