Attending the ceremony were Director of the Vietnam National Tourism Administration Nguyen Trung Khanh, Deputy Director of the Vietnam National Tourism Administration Nguyen Thi Hoa Mai, along with leaders of the Department of International Cooperation, Department of Grassroots Information and External Information, Department of Press, Department of Radio, Television and Electronic Information, Department of Physical Training and Sports; Vietnam Tourism Association, Vietnam Golf Association, Vietnam Airlines , representatives of Greg Norman Company, Group 54; and many central and local press agencies.
Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ho An Phong highly appreciated Mr. Greg Norman's contributions to promoting Vietnam tourism in his role as Vietnam Tourism Ambassador for the 2018 - 2021 period. He is a professional, talented golfer, influential and has made great contributions to the world golf sport . He has a great love for Vietnam and in his first term, he had many activities and positive contributions to Vietnam tourism. This is the basis for the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to appoint Mr. Greg Norman to continue as Vietnam Tourism Ambassador for the 2025 - 2030 term.

Deputy Minister Ho An Phong emphasized that this is a golden time to promote Vietnam tourism in the new context, when the tourism industry is receiving attention from the Party and the State as one of the driving forces for socio-economic development in the new era of development of the country. Over the past two years, Vietnam tourism has grown impressively, in 20224 welcoming 17.6 million international visitors, including 3 million golfers, to Vietnam. Vietnam tourism has the best growth in the Asia-Pacific region, a bright spot in the picture of Vietnam's socio-economic development.
The Deputy Minister believes that in his new term, Tourism Ambassador Greg Norman will continue to promote his role, prestige, influence and, above all, his understanding of Vietnamese culture and people, actively promote the image of Vietnamese tourism to the world, spreading the message that Vietnam is an ideal destination for international tourists as well as golf tourism.

Delighted to be reappointed as Vietnam Tourism Ambassador, Mr. Greg Norman shared that 5 years ago he came to Vietnam and saw the potential of golf and tourism in Vietnam. As a golfer, Tourism Ambassador and with his experience, he will actively contribute to the development of golf tourism in Vietnam. He expressed his admiration for the Vietnamese tourism industry which has overcome the difficulties of the pandemic and achieved amazing achievements. He realized that golf and golf tourism in Vietnam have developed rapidly in the past 10 years, with the leading role of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism. He believes that in the next 5 years there will be many opportunities for cooperation and development with the Asia Pacific region as well as the Australian market, the homeland of the Tourism Ambassador.
“I am proud to continue to be associated with Vietnam as Tourism Ambassador for the 2025 - 2030 term. I pledge to do my best to continue promoting the image of Vietnam, a destination not only for golfers but also a country of heritage, nature, culture and friendly people, spreading the image of Vietnamese tourism more strongly to the world,” Mr. Greg Norman shared.

It is known that in the new term, Tourism Ambassador Greg Norman will continue to promote Vietnam golf tourism on personal media platforms, aiming to raise international recognition of Vietnam's golf destinations. Continue to coordinate and participate in activities to promote Vietnam tourism in general and golf tourism in particular at tourism and cultural programs and events held in the United States and Australia organized and participated by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism. Connect golf tourism with heritage tourism through events such as: Heritage Golf Festival in Quang Tri, Hue, Da Nang.
Tourism Ambassador Greg Norman will advise on the development of sustainable golf course management and development policies, combining environmental protection and green tourism development, proposing a program for the inspection and ranking of international standard golf courses. At the same time, he will connect and organize international golf tournaments in Vietnam, including a plan to coordinate with LIV Golf to bring a top tournament to Vietnam within the framework of the Ambassador's term.
In addition, the Ambassador also plans to launch a chain of Greg Norman Golf Academies to train the young generation of golfers, popularize golf in physical education, and create conditions for Vietnamese people to access this sport early.

Mr. Greg Norman, an Australian professional golfer, is considered a golf legend. Mr. Greg Norman has been with Vietnam Tourism since 2018 as Tourism Ambassador. During the 2018 - 2021 term, Mr. Greg Norman coordinated with the General Department of Tourism (now the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism) to carry out tourism promotion activities, contributing to increasing the recognition and positioning of the Vietnamese Tourism brand at home and abroad. He has made a strong impression by contributing to making Vietnam become "Asia's Best Golf Destination" and "World's Best Golf Destination" twice (2019, 2021) voted by the prestigious World Golf Awards.
Greg Norman's image is used as the representative for the Golf section of the Vietnam.travel website of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism. He is a storyteller through his experiences, moments, and emotions about the landscape, cuisine, and interesting places when traveling in Vietnam during his famtrip, sharing them with international friends on his personal social networking sites (Instagram and Facebook have a large number of followers). He also participated in making a clip promoting Vietnam tourism with the message "A great destination to experience golf"...
With global influence and extensive network, Greg Norman has provided consulting and connection support for international events in Vietnam, typically bringing the International Series Vietnam tournament of the Asian Tour system to KN Golf Links Cam Ranh.
He also participated in promoting Vietnam on international media channels such as CNN, CNBC, Golf Channel, Golf Digest, etc., contributing to positioning Vietnam as an emerging golf destination in the region and globally. The videos promoting Vietnamese golf made by him have been widely broadcast, helping to spread the image of the country, people and tourism of Vietnam to the world.
Greg Norman is also the designer of many golf courses in Vietnam such as The Bluffs Ho Tram, KN Golf Links Cam Ranh, Legend Da Nang Golf Resort, NovaWorld Phan Thiet, Dragon Golf Links and Van Lang Empire T&T Golf Club... contributing to making Vietnam one of the attractive golf destinations in Asia.
