The city of Båstad, Skåne County, Sweden has been bustling over the past few days with a supercar event taking place here. And the center of all attention is the limited edition Koenigsegg Sadair's Spear. According to Christian von Koenigsegg, the new hypercar is “destined to set records” and has already proven to be 1.1 seconds faster than the Jesko Attack at the Gotland Ring in Sweden.
The twin-turbo V8 in the Koenigsegg Sadair's Spear benefits from a new calibration and improved cooling. The result is an increase in power to 1,300 horsepower on regular unleaded gasoline and up to 1,625 horsepower on E85. This represents an increase of 20hp and 25hp respectively over the Jesko Attack. The Sadair's Spear's power is still sent to the rear axle via Koenigsegg's flywheel-less Lightspeed Transmission (LST), operated exclusively via paddle shifters behind the steering wheel. Then there's the weight – the Sadair's Spear is 35kg lighter than the Jesko, meaning it beats the 1:1 power-to-weight ratio of its predecessor, the Koenigsegg One:1. Of course, there's a track-focused chassis setup, suspension with lighter springs and the company's own Triplex front dampers, combined with improved multi-layer carbon ceramic brakes with stronger material for the brake pads.
Finally, Koenigsegg has improved the Jesko’s aerodynamic performance, largely thanks to a new dual-blade active rear wing that is said to generate more downforce, combined with subtle underbody slats and wheel arch louvers. This hypercar has dimensions of 4,690 x 2,030 x 1,210 mm, with a wheelbase of 2,700 mm. Thanks to the carbon fiber monocoque design with a torsional stiffness of 65,000 Nm/degree, Sadair's Spear has a dry weight of only 1,320 kg. The interior of the Koenigsegg Sadair's Spear retains the minimalist design philosophy by reducing about 2.6 kg of soundproofing material, 1.3 kg with new technology carbon fiber material. The bucket seat set is also refined specifically for this supercar. Customers can choose between 3-point or 6-point seat belts depending on the market.
The car is still equipped with convenient features such as SmartCluster digital dashboard, SmartCenter infotainment interface, 360 parking support... The car is equipped with standard Koenigsegg Aircore 7-spoke carbon fiber rims with a new design, 20 inches in size at the front axle and 21 inches at the rear axle. The rear end is slightly longer than the Jesko, while the front spoiler, louvers, hood vents, and side air intakes have been redesigned for better cooling. There’s also a new set of Aircore carbon-fiber wheels with a unique, turbine-blade design at each corner. As for the selling price, it is almost double that of Jesko Attack because the figure is up to 5.2 million USD, and only 30 cars are produced, instead of 125. When arriving in Vietnam, the price of Koenigsegg Sadair's Spear is rumored to be up to nearly 500 billion VND.
