Information about a wallpaper in the second beta of iOS 26 that has just been discovered is attracting attention from the technology world, as there are many signs that this is data related to the iPhone 17 Air - a device expected to launch next September.

The new wallpaper has the code 420x912@3x, equivalent to a resolution of 2,736 x 1,260 pixels, which is currently not suitable for any iPhone models currently on the market.

This resolution is said to be suitable for a 6.6-inch screen, in line with previous predictions from analyst Ming-Chi Kuo about a Thinner and lighter iPhone model, called the iPhone 17 Air. This could be a replacement for the iPhone Plus line that has fallen out of favor in recent years.

One notable point is that the iPhone 17 Air is said to use an M14 OLED panel manufactured by Samsung. This panel is capable of displaying about 30% brighter than the screen on the iPhone 16, while supporting ProMotion technology with a 120Hz refresh rate - a feature that was only available on Pro models.

In terms of design, the iPhone 17 Air is said to be only 5.5 mm thin - the thinnest ever on an iPhone model and far surpassing most smartphones today, which range from 7 to 9 mm. In addition, the device weighs about 145 grams, which is nearly 25 grams lighter than the standard iPhone 16, aiming for a device that is optimized for mobility, suitable for daily use.

The iPhone 17 Air is 5.5mm thick, significantly thinner than the iPhone 16.

The device is expected to be equipped with the A19 processor - Apple's latest generation chip. In addition, the iPhone 17 Air will use a custom 5G modem developed by Apple itself, but will not support the mmWave band - a type of 5G that is high-speed but has limited coverage and high deployment costs.

The iPhone 17 Air is expected to start at around $800, similar to the price of the previous Plus line. The appearance of the Air version shows that Apple is looking to refresh the mid-range iPhone segment, to increase competitiveness and attract users who do not choose the Pro models.

Apple has not yet officially confirmed any information about the product. However, with evidence appearing in iOS 26 beta, the iPhone 17 Air will almost certainly be present at the iPhone 17 series launch event in September this year.
