Kien Giang welcomed nearly 1.3 million tourists in May

(KGO) - In May 2025, Kien Giang welcomed nearly 1.3 million tourists coming to visit and relax; of which, there were over 154,000 international visitors.

On May 27, Kien Giang Department of Tourism announced that in May 2025, Kien Giang welcomed nearly 1.3 million visitors for sightseeing and relaxation, an increase of 62.1% over the same period; of which, international visitors were over 154,000, an increase of 113.1% over the same period in 2024. Total revenue from tourism activities was VND 5,095 billion, an increase of 162% over the same period in 2024.

In the first 5 months, Kien Giang welcomed over 5.6 million visitors, up 26.9% over the same period, reaching 51.2% of the 2025 plan; of which, international visitors were over 783,000, up 76.9% over the same period, reaching 65.3% of the 2025 plan. Total revenue from tourism activities was VND 23,981 billion, up 109.8% over the same period in 2024, reaching 84.1% of the 2025 plan.

Phu Quoc City continues to be the most attractive destination in Kien Giang, with over 751,000 visitors in May, up 51% over the same period; of which, international visitors were over 152,000, up 114.7% over the same period in 2024. Total revenue reached VND 3,699 billion, up 126.1% over the same period in 2024.

In the first 5 months, Phu Quoc welcomed over 3.5 million visitors, up 30.5% over the same period, reaching 48.9% of the 2025 plan; of which, international visitors were over 775,000, up 78.3% over the same period, reaching 65.9% of the 2025 plan. Total revenue was 17,926 billion VND, up 87.1% over the same period, reaching 76.3% of the 2025 plan...
