“Ba Dinh Red” – Heritage Journey and National Pride

Hanoi organizes the program "Ba Dinh Red" from August 30 to September 2 with a series of cultural, artistic, culinary and tourism activities, affirming the position of the capital as a historical, creative and friendly destination.

From August 30 to September 2, 2025, at Truc Bach walking street and many nearby relic sites and experience areas, Hanoi will organize a special program with the theme "Red Ba Dinh".

According to information from the Hanoi Department of Tourism, the event was held on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and National Day September 2, aiming to affirm the position of the Capital in the hearts of people nationwide as well as international friends.

The highlight of the program is the opening ceremony at 7:00 p.m. on August 30 at the main stage on Truc Bach walking street. Here, visitors and locals will enjoy an elaborate art program, combined with a film screening promoting Hanoi’s cultural and historical tourism, promising to bring feelings of pride and national pride.

During the four days of the event, “Ba Dinh Red” will take the public through a series of diverse experiential activities. The highlight is the “Heritage Road” themed activity, where visitors can visit and offer incense at sacred sites associated with the cultural and historical depth of Thang Long – Hanoi such as Quan Thanh Temple, Thuy Trung Tien Temple, and An Tri Communal House.

In addition, Truc Bach Street will become a gathering place for many unique booths and tours, combined with 4 2-storey tram cars of the Line 6 project designed with familiar and memorable themes: "Pho Car, Subsidy Car, Rice Car, Tea - Coffee Car". Each train car is not only a display space but also a place to evoke memories, connect generations, creating a new highlight in the experience of traveling to the capital. Along with that, the Hanoi Food Festival will recreate ancient culinary memories and introduce typical delicacies of the land of Ngu Xa - Ba Dinh, which is famous for its bronze casting and many traditional cultural values. The Vietnamese street food space will also be recreated, giving visitors the opportunity to explore the richness, sophistication and intimacy of the national culinary culture.

One of the novelties of “Ba Dinh Red” is the activities at the “Independence Stations” arranged throughout the event area.

Here, participants can receive a drink, exchange for a new national flag, write or draw feelings about Independence - Freedom - Fatherland at the "Save feelings" station. Along with that, the green tourism and digital tourism stations will also introduce and guide the experience of sustainable and modern tourism trends, in line with the development orientation of the capital's tourism industry.
