Not only an annual event, the Global Vietnamese Young Intellectuals Forum (Forum) has for many years played an important role in connecting intellectuals, promoting policy dialogue, spreading the spirit of innovation and creativity, and especially creating specific and practical actions to effectively promote young intellectual resources.
Through five times of organization, the Forum attracted more than 1,000 young Vietnamese intellectuals at home and abroad, contributing to programs and policies related to the country's development in general and unlocking resources from young talents in particular.
In its sixth implementation, the Forum lasted from July 19 to 21 in Hanoi with the theme "Young Vietnamese intellectuals around the world contribute to the country entering a new era".
Notably, more than 90% of the 201 official delegates are young Vietnamese talents trained abroad. In addition, there are more than 60 young faces currently working in dozens of different countries and territories around the world .
The professional fields of the delegates at this Forum are also very diverse and closely linked to the development orientations of our country in the coming time, typically nuclear physics, rocket engines, artificial intelligence (AI) technology algorithms, green economy, banking and finance, biomedical technology, linguistics...
From here, the global team of young Vietnamese intellectuals will discuss and propose solutions related to four main contents: applying AI and new technology to improve labor productivity; innovative startups associated with green economy and sustainable development; sustainable adaptation to global changes; cultural and educational development.
According to Secretary of the Central Youth Union, President of the Vietnam Youth Union Nguyen Tuong Lam, the Forum delegates were selected from more than 600 applications, then divided into the following fields: science and technology; economics-management; health-medicine; environment-sustainable development; education, society. Meanwhile, the 15 members of the Forum's Advisory Council are all prestigious faces in the expert community at the regional and international levels.
“This year’s delegation has a diverse structure, harmoniously combining experienced scientists and young, dynamic intellectuals working and researching at the world’s leading scientific institutions. This is a valuable resource with the ability to directly contribute to the process of building and perfecting national policies, developing science and technology, promoting creative startups and transferring knowledge to serve the country’s development,” said comrade Nguyen Tuong Lam.
This year’s Forum has many innovations in both content, form and approach. In addition to inheriting the serious academic spirit from previous editions, the sixth Forum focuses more on connecting young intellectuals with national development practices through practical experiences and in-depth dialogues with leading corporations, technology models and innovation ecosystems in Vietnam.
The discussion topics are also designed to focus more on global "hot" issues. The dialogue sessions are not only theoretical, but also focus on practical policy recommendations that can be quickly transformed into concrete actions right after the Forum.
In 2025, the world will witness a series of rapid, strong, complex and unpredictable movements. Meanwhile, the Party and Government are actively issuing many major policies on transforming the growth model, developing a knowledge-based economy, improving labor productivity and national competitiveness...
It is believed that the innovations of the sixth Forum will create a clear opportunity for young Vietnamese intellectuals around the world to exchange ideas, becoming a space connecting intellectuals-policies-markets, contributing to "unblocking" the flow of initiatives and intellectuals of young talents into the flow of national development in the new period.
