Banking applications - the new focus of the transformation race

During the period 2020 - 2025, a series of large banks in Vietnam have simultaneously implemented large-scale digital transformation plans, from digitizing internal processes to developing external digital service ecosystems. According to a report from the State Bank, the rate of transactions via digital channels of credit institutions has exceeded 90%. The figure of more than 5 billion transactions in the first quarter of 2025 not only shows an explosion in volume, but also reflects a fundamental change in people's financial consumption habits.

The shift is not only in the form of transactions, but also in the change in operating philosophy: banks are no longer simply places to store assets, but are gradually becoming platforms connecting finance - data - technology.

The new generation of users, especially those aged 18 to 35, are the main drivers of this process. For them, seamless experiences, high personalization, modern interfaces and smart security are the minimum criteria that a banking app should meet. They are not looking for a bank, but a financial companion in the digital environment.

On the basis of industry-wide digital transformation, banking applications are becoming a strategic competitive front. It is no longer a race of features, but a difference in the feeling of use, where each operation and each experience is designed to be "Correct - Sufficient - Suitable".

This explains why banks are constantly investing in developing new generation applications: from upgrading biometric security, integrating artificial intelligence to analyze user behavior, to building a QR payment ecosystem and financial services closely linked to lifestyle.

In that context, some banks have chosen their own path - not noisy, not ostentatious, but focusing on listening, analyzing and preparing carefully. The birth of some new banking applications in 2025 is expected to be not only a technological step forward, but also a testament to long-term strategic orientation and a vision of real innovation.

The future of banking lies in the hands of the users

As one of the banks that is actively transforming itself, SHB is also approaching a new milestone in its digitalization journey. It is expected that in June 2025, SHB will introduce a new generation digital banking application - a product developed with a user-centric orientation, integrating modern technologies, intuitive interfaces and deep customization capabilities.

Not only stopping at basic transactions, this new application aims to support users in comprehensively managing personal financial behavior, from spending, saving, investing to connecting payments in a widespread consumer ecosystem. With the philosophy of "personalization for closeness", SHB is redefining the role of digital banking in modern life - where technology not only creates convenience, but also brings a sense of friendliness and trust.

Digital transformation in banking is no longer a technology project, but a comprehensive innovation process: in terms of thinking, structure and value creation. In that journey, each banking application is the door connecting with users - and where the difference lies not in "what the bank can do", but in "whether users are willing to stay or not".

As the banking industry continues to shift towards the consumer, those financial institutions that listen and act in a timely manner - like SHB is doing - will not only survive, but can pave their own path into a future of banking that is smarter, more flexible and closer than ever.
