Fertile land and cool climate have made businesses from the lowland provinces choose Y Ty as a stop to develop production. Ten years ago, Phin Ho village, Y Ty commune was still a wild, deserted land in the fog. Today, Phin Ho has become a vegetable and lily growing area with an area of about 30 hectares. Lilies are a difficult plant and very sensitive to the weather, but when taking root in this foggy land, they grow and develop well, giving beautiful and even flowers. Looking at the neat rows of lilies ready for harvest, rising in the sun and wind, Mr. Lo Van Tu, from Me Linh flower village, Hanoi, could not hide his joy.
Mr. Tu said: "The family has invested in growing lilies in Y Ty for 4 years. Currently, to harvest 20 hectares of lilies, the family hires about 70 - 80 local workers every day. After cutting the lilies, they will be transported to the gathering location to be tied into bundles. The work requires skill but is not too hard, so local people can take on the task."
Ms. Hau Thi Mai, Phin Chai 1 village, Y Ty commune, has just been hired to work at Mr. Tu's lily growing facility for more than a week but has already caught up with the work. Ms. Mai confided: "The work is not hard and I have extra income, so I am very excited."
Sharing with us, the Chairman of the Farmers' Association of Y Ty - Phu Mo Gio commune said: "In recent years, the model of agricultural development associated with tourism has developed relatively strongly in the area, creating new tourism products for the locality. The whole commune has about 50 households in Phin Ho, Trung Chai, Mo Phu Chai villages renting land to businesses and individuals to grow lilies. Thanks to that, there is more money to develop the family economy ; at the same time, people also have access to new methods in agricultural production to apply to family economic development. I believe that new production models will realize the dreams and aspirations of the people here, so that people's lives will be more prosperous".
A new crop season has begun, the flower seasons will follow each other brilliantly, and so on, the land and people of Y Ty are always burning with dreams and aspirations for a bright future for the borderland.
Along with that, tourism is still the highlight that creates a special attraction for the highlands of Y Ty. The wild natural landscape, along with the unique culture of the Ha Nhi, Dao, Giay, Mong ethnic groups have become the highlight of the land on the border of the Fatherland. Realizing the tourism potential of this land, recently, many young people have left the city to go to the forest, opening homestays and providing accommodation services here.
Mr. Lam Minh Tu, a resident of Lao Cai city, is such a person. While working on a tour, Mr. Tu and his wife have opened a small shop near Y Ty market, selling souvenirs and specialties of the highlands. Mr. Tu believes that the development of infrastructure will create conditions to attract more tourists to Y Ty in the future. "Many of my customers, when they know that the road to Y Ty is about to be completed, have made appointments to come and see the golden season," Mr. Tu said excitedly.
Along with nearly 20 homestays, the picture of the Y Ty border area today has more impressive colors, the highlight is the Cloud Paradise Resort Y Ty, located in Mo Phu Chai village, with a scale of 16 hectares. This place impresses with stone-paved roads, rustic stone fences, a space filled with climbing roses, hydrangeas, and apricot blossoms...
According to Mr. Ngo Dinh Hiep - Resort Manager, Cloud Paradise Resort Y Ty has completed 27 units, equivalent to 37 rooms, with a capacity of more than 100 guests. When put into operation, the resort will also cooperate with local households to develop exploration and experience tourism, creating a source of income for local people.
Mr. Nguyen Van Tai - Secretary of the Party Committee of Y Ty commune said: "After a difficult term, the highland area of Y Ty has reduced nearly 10% of poor households; many agricultural and tourism projects have been invested. The biggest difficulty is traffic infrastructure, but this problem is also being resolved. Currently, the Ban Vuoc - Ban Xeo route has been completed; the project to renovate and upgrade the Ban Xeo - Den Sang - Y Ty road is being accelerated. When completed, the projects will solve the bottlenecks in traffic infrastructure, opening up opportunities for Y Ty tourism to develop, as well as realizing the goal of turning Y Ty into a tourist city. Promoting the achieved results, the Party Committee and people of Y Ty continue to unite to further develop the locality in the new term".
