Mr. Nguyen Dinh Phi Son - Principal of Dien Lac Primary School said: “Previously, the school had two campuses that were seriously degraded. The schoolyard at campus 1 was lower than the road level, so every rainy season it was flooded, affecting the students' travel and study. Organizing common activities encountered many difficulties because students at campus 2 had to move to campus 1. On the other hand, due to the limited area, not enough to build a kitchen, the school could not organize boarding in previous years even though parents requested it. This school year, more than 680 students will study at one campus; the school will have many favorable conditions to improve the quality of teaching and learning.”
At Nguyen Du High School (Ninh Son Commune), classrooms and functional rooms have just been repainted; the electrical system and fans have been replaced and repaired, making the learning space cleaner and more airy. Mr. Le Anh - Principal of the school said that the school was built a long time ago, so many items and equipment have gradually deteriorated and deteriorated. Last year, the school received the first investment in upgrading with a budget of 600 million VND. This year, the Department of Education and Training (GD-DT) continues to invest about 700 million VND to renovate the school's facilities. In recent days, the school has divided classes, assigned teachers to teach, rearranged practice rooms, cleaned the environment inside and outside the classroom to be ready to welcome more than 800 students from 18 classes to return to school and study 2 sessions/day from the 2025-2026 school year.
Comrade Vo Hoan Hai - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Director of the Department of Education and Training: The Department has guided schools to organize opening ceremonies and activities at the beginning of the 2025-2026 school year in accordance with actual conditions, creating motivation and excitement for students. At the same time, coordinate with local authorities and mass organizations to encourage students to attend class, limiting the situation of dropping out of school after the summer break. In addition, schools with ethnic minority students are implementing enhanced Vietnamese language teaching during the summer to help them confidently enter the new school year.
Review and rearrange the teaching staff
In addition to investing in facilities, the provincial education sector is also urgently preparing the teaching staff for the new school year. Since July 1, the Department of Education and Training has issued a decision to accept and appoint 163 management officials of 62 affiliated public service units to complete the management staff for the units after the arrangement. To prepare human resources for the new school year, the department has asked communes, wards and public service units to report on the situation of surplus and shortage of teachers specifically for each level and subject. For high school level, the review of the situation of surplus and shortage of teachers will only be carried out after grade 10 students have finished choosing their subject groups.
According to the leaders of the Department of Education and Training, the biggest difficulty at present is the local surplus and shortage of teachers. Most high school education institutions have a surplus of teachers in the Natural Sciences group, but a shortage of teachers in the Social Sciences group. Therefore, the Department of Education and Training is synthesizing the need for teachers based on reports from educational institutions and localities to develop a plan to organize teacher transfers to resolve this difficulty.
In addition to ensuring the quantity, the education sector is also implementing professional training for the team of managers and teachers during the summer to meet the requirements of the 2018 General Education Program. At the same time, the Department of Education and Training will guide the implementation of professional activities of the fields of study and levels of education to prepare for the new school year 2025 - 2026 to operate smoothly, with harmonious coordination between the provincial and communal levels in education management.
In the 2025-2026 school year, the province will have 786 schools from preschool to high school (including 280 preschools, 269 primary schools, 181 secondary schools, 56 high schools) and 9 centers, with a total of more than 446,200 students, more than 31,600 managers, teachers and staff.
