Hon Gai Coal Company - TKV is a member unit of Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Group (TKV) with a history of coal mining of more than 70 years with the company's coal mining output reaching from 2 to 2.3 million tons/year; ensuring stable jobs and income for more than 4,000 officers, workers and laborers.
In 2023, implementing the policy of Quang Ninh province to gradually shift from "brown" to "green", the company has completely switched to underground mining and focused on investing in underground mines within the entire boundary assigned for management in accordance with the planning.
To maintain and develop production in accordance with the national energy master plan for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050, Hon Gai Coal Company has invested in the underground mining project of the Ha Rang mine expansion.
The Ha Rang mine expansion underground mining project has a mining capacity of 900,000 tons/year.
Accordingly, the Ha Rang Mine Expansion Underground Mining Project has a mining capacity of 900,000 tons/year with a total investment of about VND 1,413 billion and will be implemented in 4 years, from 2025-2029.
Director of Hon Gai Coal Company Le Trung Toan said: “According to the national energy master plan for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050 approved by the Prime Minister , the Ha Rang mine expansion underground mining project needs to be invested in to produce coal in the period 2021-2030.
During the implementation and exploitation of the project, the company proactively researched and applied new mining technologies suitable to the geological conditions of the mine to increase labor productivity, reduce direct labor, minimize the use of explosives in underground mining, ensure safety, and significantly improve the environment and working conditions of workers in the underground mine.
It is known that the completed project will make maximum use of conveyor transport technology with a roof system and apply maximum automation in the operation of the conveyor system.
By researching and applying mechanization technology in tunneling, mining, coal transportation and some production stages in the mine and on the project site, we will gradually move towards the goal of "green mines, clean mines and mines with few people".
Leaders of Uong Bi Coal Company surveyed the underground mining project in Tan Yen area - Dong Trang Bach mine, with a capacity of 0.45 million tons/year.
In order to improve productivity, mining output and ensure the environment, the Nam Mau Coal Screening Plant construction investment project with a total investment of VND 1,019 billion will be implemented from 2025 and is expected to be completed in 2027, in Yen Tu ward, Quang Ninh province.
This is a project with a capacity of 2.5 million tons of coal/year, using modern, environmentally friendly screening technology, with a flexible coal screening technology line, selecting by cyclone suspension of three products (XLHP 3SP) combined with a closed sludge and water treatment system, using dewatering screens, concentration tanks and frame and plate filter systems, along with advanced coal drying technology.
Mr. Bui Hung Manh, an officer of the Investment-Environment Department of Nam Mau Coal Company, said: “Technically, the modern coal screening technology selected this time is one of the most advanced technologies in the coal processing industry today. The XLHP 3SP system is capable of effectively processing many types of coal with different moisture and density, while helping to increase the rate of clean coal recovery, reduce the loss rate during the selection process, and improve the economic efficiency of the company.”
The application of advanced and closed coal drying system not only improves the quality of finished coal, but also significantly reduces the amount of dust and wastewater discharged into the environment. Notably, safety factors during the operation and maintenance of equipment are also given special attention, strictly following the standards in the mining industry.
Perspective of the project of the underground workers' dormitory of Nui Beo Coal Joint Stock Company.
These are 2 of 5 key projects of TKV that were started on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2. Along with these projects, there are also the Coc Sau-Deo Nai mining cluster project, with a capacity of 2.7 million tons/year, a total investment of about 2,074 billion VND; the Tan Yen-Dong Trang Bach mine underground mining project, with a capacity of 0.45 million tons/year, a total investment of about 1,111 billion VND and the Nui Beo Coal Joint Stock Company underground workers' dormitory project, with a total investment of about 299 billion VND, a scale of 398 rooms according to the model of 1 person/room, all of which will be implemented in 2025.
According to the Vietnam National Coal-Mineral Industries Group, to date, all five projects have completed legal procedures and are eligible to commence construction as prescribed.
In particular, the underground mining project of the Ha Rang mine extension is one of 34 main bridges with works and projects selected by the Government to start construction and inaugurate simultaneously, celebrating the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2.
It can be affirmed that these are the key projects of the group, bearing a strong mark and having important significance in improving the capacity of coal production, processing and supply, meeting the national energy demand, building the coal industry to develop more and more modernly and sustainably, while contributing to improving the quality of life, material and spiritual life of mine workers along with the general development of the coal industry in particular and Quang Ninh province in general.
