Reporting to the Survey Team, a representative of Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park Management Board said: In the first 7 months of 2025, the unit has proactively implemented forest management and protection work with many synchronous and effective solutions. Sensitive areas, hotspots of illegal forest exploitation, as well as areas with special ecosystems such as the rare population of green stone cypresses have been strictly controlled.

Along with that, the National Park Management Board also promotes propaganda and education on laws on forest protection and biodiversity conservation for communities in buffer zone communes. Thereby, not only raising awareness of the value of the National Park, but also mobilizing the active participation of people in forest protection activities, considering forests as common assets.
In the field of promoting heritage values, Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park Management Board has effectively developed and implemented a plan to promote tourism; in particular, focusing on the application of digital technology . Promotional campaigns on social networking platforms and online media channels have attracted great attention from domestic and foreign tourists. At the same time, the Management Board has also diversified tourism products, from adventurous cave exploration tours to eco-tourism, resort and entertainment products suitable for many types of visitors. Improving the quality of services at routes and attractions also contributes to bringing the best experience to visitors.
By the end of July 2025, the number of visitors to the National Park had reached 711,640; total revenue from tourism activities reached more than 252 billion VND. Thereby, actively contributing to the task of collecting the state budget and developing the local socio-economy.
Regarding projects to preserve, restore and renovate relics in the area, some projects have been completed and put into use, while others are being implemented according to schedule. Scientific research topics have also been promoted, contributing to clarifying the hidden values of the National Park, serving the work of conservation and sustainable development.
Prioritize sustainable, environmentally friendly projects
At the meeting, in addition to recognizing the remarkable results in heritage conservation, forest protection, and tourist attraction, the members of the survey team also frankly pointed out the difficulties and shortcomings in the management and promotion of heritage values. In particular, the task of balancing heritage conservation with tourism development, to exploit potential effectively and sustainably.
Many solutions to improve the effectiveness of conservation work in the coming time were discussed by delegates. In particular, many opinions proposed the need to perfect management mechanisms and policies, strengthen coordination between departments, branches and localities; selectively attract investment resources; prioritize projects that bring sustainable values and are environmentally friendly...

Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Tran Huy emphasized that tourism development cannot be separated from conservation work. Therefore, the National Park Management Board needs to proactively build cooperative relationships and promote investment with strategic partners and reputable and experienced investors to develop high-quality tourism products. At the same time, it is necessary to promote the value of natural resources to develop diverse and unique tourism types and products.
In addition, the management of investment projects is also a matter of concern to many delegates. Accordingly, the Management Board needs to continue to monitor and closely manage construction investment projects and tourism development projects in the National Park and buffer zone according to the planning; ensuring that all development activities must strictly comply with regulations on heritage conservation.
Along with that, the Management Board needs to urge, inspect and supervise construction units to speed up the progress of ongoing projects while ensuring the quality of the works. This not only helps the projects to come into operation soon and promote efficiency but also ensures that construction works do not have negative impacts on the landscape, environment and ecosystem.
