Khanh Hoa strengthens state management of international tourist reception activities

Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee has just issued an official dispatch directing the strengthening of state management and improving economic efficiency in welcoming international tourists to promote sustainable development of the local tourism industry.

Accordingly, the Provincial People's Committee requested agencies, units and localities to continue to propagate, thoroughly grasp, resolutely, synchronously and effectively implement assigned tasks, especially the Prime Minister's instructions in Official Dispatch No. 34 dated April 10, 2025, focusing on breakthrough solutions in promotion, diversification of high-quality products, accelerating digital transformation and green transformation, creating favorable conditions for tourists to access destinations; at the same time, strengthen destination management, control service quality, strictly handle violations to create a safe, civilized and friendly tourism environment.

The Provincial People's Committee requests the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to strengthen the management of tourist destinations; regularly monitor, grasp the situation and promptly handle issues arising in the reception of international tourists; step up inspection of travel business activities, tour guides, accommodation, management of tourist areas and spots, promptly handle violations (if any), ensure a healthy, safe and effective tourism business environment. The Department coordinates with departments, branches and localities to synchronously deploy solutions to effectively promote tourism potential, attract international tourists; improve the quality of the tourism environment in the province, especially in key tourist areas, contributing to the sustainable development of Khanh Hoa tourism industry; carry out state management of tourism within its authority, in accordance with the provisions of law; develop a master plan to improve the effectiveness of receiving international tourists, and report to the Provincial People's Committee before September 30, 2025.

The Provincial People's Committee requested the Provincial Inspectorate to coordinate in strengthening the inspection of tourism service quality, resolutely and strictly handle violations such as price gouging, tourist fraud, commercial fraud and illegal tour guide activities. The Provincial Police ensure security and order, strengthen the management of immigration and exit activities, supervise temporary residence registration and manage foreigners, especially foreign workers in the tourism sector. The Department of Industry and Trade directs the Market Management force to inspect points of sale serving tourists, handle violations of goods quality and commercial fraud. Khanh Hoa Provincial Tax Department implements a program to prevent tax loss in the tourism sector, reform VAT refund procedures for foreign visitors, and apply technology to facilitate tourists. The State Bank of Vietnam, Regional Branch 10, develops modern electronic payment services, strengthens cross-border payment connections with key tourism markets. Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa Tourism Association and Ninh Thuan Tourism Association strengthen member connections, organize professional training, improve professional ethics for tourism human resources, coordinate to implement high-quality tourism stimulus programs... Commune-level People's Committees strengthen state management of tourism, inspect and supervise business conditions, and promote propaganda of civilized tourism awareness in the community.

According to the report of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in the first 7 months of 2025, Khanh Hoa province welcomed more than 10.8 million visitors, an increase of 16% over the same period in 2024. Of which, international visitors are estimated at more than 3.2 million, an increase of 13.6%; domestic visitors are estimated at more than 7.6 million, an increase of 17.1% over the same period last year. Total revenue from tourists is estimated at more than 42,379 billion VND, an increase of 17.2% over the same period in 2024.
