Opening of the 2025 National Youth Badminton Championship in Hai Phong

(Haiphong.gov.vn) – On the evening of June 9, at the Gymnasium of Vietnam Maritime University, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Hai Phong City coordinated with the Vietnam Badminton Federation and related units to organize the Opening Ceremony of the 2025 National Youth Badminton Championship.

Attending the opening ceremony were comrades: Tran Thi Hoang Mai - Director of the City Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Pham Thi To Trang - Deputy Director of the City Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, along with representatives of departments, branches, organizations and many athletes and coaches from provinces and cities across the country.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the city Tran Thi Hoang Mai emphasized: The National Youth Badminton Championship is one of the key tournaments in the national competition system, organized annually by the Department of Sports and Physical Training and the Vietnam Badminton Federation. The tournament aims to evaluate the quality of training and education of athletes in localities across the country; at the same time, it is an opportunity to discover, select and nurture outstanding young talents, who will be the core of the National Badminton Team in the future. This year's tournament is also an opportunity for athletes to compete, accumulate experience, and prepare for the participation in the 10th National Sports Festival in 2026. This is also a practical activity that contributes to promoting the badminton movement of Hai Phong city in particular and the whole country in general.

The 2025 National Youth Badminton Championship will take place from June 8 to 15, 2025 at the Vietnam Maritime University Gymnasium. The tournament will bring together nearly 200 young athletes (aged 13 to 18, born between 2007 and 2012) from 24 provinces, cities and sectors across the country, including: Hai Phong, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Bac Giang, Bac Ninh, Da Nang, Dong Nai, Dong Thap, Dien Bien, Hai Duong, Hung Yen, Lam Dong, Lai Chau, Ninh Thuan, Army, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Son La, Thai Binh, Thanh Hoa, Thua Thien Hue, Tien Giang, Tuyen Quang and Tra Vinh.

Athletes compete in two main categories: mixed team and individual (including men's singles, women's singles, men's doubles, women's doubles and mixed doubles). The tournament promises to be exciting and exciting with many dramatic and high-quality competitions.
