On the afternoon of July 11, the Hanoi People's Committee held a meeting to honor 250 typical examples of the Capital Police and the Movement of the whole people to protect the National Security.
Comrade Tran Sy Thanh, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee chaired the conference.
Attending the event were members of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee: Head of the Hanoi Party Committee's Internal Affairs Committee Do Anh Tuan, Lieutenant General - Party Secretary, Director of Hanoi City Police Nguyen Thanh Tung; Vice Chairman of the City People's Council, Deputy Head of the Hanoi City National Assembly Delegation Pham Thi Thanh Mai; leaders of departments, branches and 250 typical examples of the Capital Police and the Movement for National Security Protection.
Touching stories of life and career
At the meeting, delegates listened to the officers and soldiers of the Capital Police, who are typical examples of progress, share about their lives and work with hardships, difficulties, and also the joys and happiness when completing their tasks and receiving the affection of the people. Each person has a different situation and story, but all of them show the beauty of the Capital People's Police soldiers, simple, modest, resilient, and brave; ready to help the people in the spirit of: "When the people need, when the people are in trouble, there is the police".
That is the story of Captain Dao Van Khanh (Viet Hung Ward Police), a diligent officer considered by the people as "the son of the neighborhood". In 2021, while struggling to take his father to treat cancer, Mr. Khanh learned about Mai Phuong, a resident in the area, who was also being treated for cancer. Feeling sorry for Phuong's situation, when her father was paralyzed and her mother had to raise three children alone, Mr. Khanh actively mobilized the school and the neighborhood association to call on benefactors to support Phuong's family with 200 million VND.
Thanks to the efforts of Captain Dao Van Khanh, up to now, Phuong's health has stabilized and the family is also better off.
The story of Captain Nguyen Thi Ha Mi (Personnel Organization Department, City Police) also moved the delegates deeply about her act of donating blood to save lives; she is also known as a “living blood bank”…
Major Dang Van Hai (Department of Internal Security) shared his experiences in ensuring the harmony of interests between the people and the state in site clearance and land acquisition for key projects in the city.
Major Dang Van Hai shared: "If we want people to listen, we must be close, share, and persistently mobilize; must accompany, listen, and especially be ready to help people with seemingly smallest things such as finding a new house, supporting the movement of furniture so that people can soon stabilize their lives...".
Lieutenant Colonel Pham Thi Thuy Duong (Head of the Professional Records Department) also shared unforgettable memories on the digital transformation “front”, with months of hard work with the task of ensuring that data is “correct, sufficient, clean, and alive”, especially for people to trust and cooperate. “Modern officials must have a sympathetic heart. Serving the needs and aspirations of the people must be like serving their own relatives…”, said comrade Pham Thi Thuy Duong.
Sharing her 15 years of work helping addicts reintegrate into the community, Ms. Nghiem Thuy Trang (Head of Club B93, Ngoc Ha Ward) sent her thanks to the local police force who always accompanied and sacrificed peacefully for the peace of the people.
The exchange ended when the leaders and delegates sang the song "Joining Hands" to the thunderous applause of the entire hall.
Patriotic emulation must become the driving force for innovation.
Speaking at the meeting, Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh highly appreciated the outstanding efforts and achievements of officers and soldiers of Hanoi City Police over the past 5 years.
Expressing his emotions when listening to the police officers and soldiers directly sharing simple but humane stories from the ceremony, the Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee emphasized: "Each person is a story, a valuable example for us to learn and spread. Congratulations to the typical advanced examples present here today - you are truly fresh flowers in the garden of patriotic emulation - representing tens of thousands of typical collectives and individuals who are day and night, quietly contributing their efforts and intelligence to the peaceful and developed Capital".
Comrade Tran Sy Thanh said that, along with the whole country, Hanoi has officially implemented the two-level local government model, with the urgent requirement of streamlining the apparatus, clarifying responsibilities, being close to the grassroots, and providing effective service.
“In that context, each cadre, party member, soldier of the Capital Police force and the mass forces participating in the movement to protect national security need to continue to uphold the spirit of responsibility, proactively innovate thinking, act decisively, dare to think, dare to do, dare to take responsibility for the common good. Patriotic emulation must become the driving force for innovation, the criteria for action is the measure of effectiveness in serving the people,” the Chairman of the City People's Committee suggested.
Pointing out some important orientations in the coming time, comrade Tran Sy Thanh suggested continuing to innovate the content, form, and method of organizing emulation movements in the Capital Police in the direction of focusing on the grassroots, closely following political tasks, key and urgent tasks, in line with the new organizational model, having rich and attractive forms of launching emulation, with appropriate, practical and effective emulation themes, being the driving force to motivate officers and soldiers to excellently complete assigned tasks...
The Capital Police Force needs to promote its core role in the movement of the entire people to protect national security, identifying this as a political task of strategic significance. Continue to build and promote the effectiveness of self-management models of security and order at the grassroots level. Expand the emulation movement, commend typical examples, create a widespread and effective impact on ensuring security and order.
Sending congratulations and praising the typical advanced collectives and individuals who were honored, the Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee believes that the comrades will continue to strive, learn and practice regularly, preserve and promote the noble titles that have been honored; continue to be fragrant flowers, shining with spirit, morality, sense of responsibility, dedication, and wholehearted dedication. Because to achieve success, honor is difficult, but to maintain the title and love is much more difficult.
The Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee especially noted that the two important tasks for the city's police force are to ensure absolute safety for the series of activities celebrating the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and the upcoming National Day on September 2; and to ensure environmental sanitation so that the capital is bright, green, clean and beautiful to welcome the people and international friends...
Speaking to receive the direction of the Chairman of the City People's Committee, Lieutenant General Nguyen Thanh Tung, Director of Hanoi City Police, affirmed that the city's police force will continue to promote its glorious tradition, constantly innovate, and be determined to better fulfill the tasks entrusted to it by the Party Committee, government and people of the capital.
In the new context with many difficulties, challenges and very heavy tasks, the Capital People's Police is determined not only to be the armed force playing a core role in ensuring security and order, but also to clearly demonstrate innovative thinking and the spirit of serving the people. "This is the pivotal moment, an opportunity for the Capital Police force to demonstrate its political mettle and professional capacity, worthy of being the sharp and trustworthy "sword" of the Party, government and people of the Capital in the new development period", Lieutenant General Nguyen Thanh Tung stated.
