These individuals were destroyed by burning at the incinerator of the Hanoi Wildlife Rescue Center to prevent the spread of disease to humans and livestock. All of the above specimens and wild animals were completely destroyed and could no longer be reused.

Director of the Hanoi Wildlife Rescue Center Luong Xuan Hong said: the number of wild animals destroyed this time is mostly evidence of administrative violations, evidence of criminal cases (individuals that died or died during transportation and preservation) received by the Center from functional forces.

The destruction of wild animals is carried out in accordance with Circular No. 29/2019/TT-BNNPTNT of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development regulating the handling of wild animals as exhibits and evidence; wild animals voluntarily handed over to the State by organizations and individuals (effective from February 20, 2020).

To ensure publicity and transparency, the Center also invited witnesses, media agencies, and relevant parties to participate in checking and comparing the quantity between the records and the actual number of wild animal carcasses to be incinerated.
