Hanoi: Sharp increase in ticket prices for two urban railway routes from August 1

On the afternoon of July 5, information from Hanoi Metro Company Limited said that from August 1, ticket prices for two elevated railway lines (Line 2A Cat Linh-Ha Dong and Line 3.1 Nhon-Hanoi Railway Station) will be adjusted up compared to the old price. At the same time, the unit will also stop implementing collective monthly tickets.

Hanoi Metro informed that daily tickets increased by 30% and monthly tickets increased by 40% compared to the old price.

Specifically, the fare for a one-way ticket between stations when paying without cash on the Cat Linh-Ha Dong urban railway line from the second station (La Thanh Station) is 8,595 VND and if arriving at the end of the line at Yen Nghia Station is 18,625 VND. If passengers pay in cash, the fare from the second station is 9,000 VND and the end of the line is up to 19,000 VND.

The skytrain is a public transport that is attracting more and more people to participate.

For the Nhon-Hanoi Railway Line, the fare from the second station (Minh Khai Station) is 8,935 VND, and if you go to the last station, Cau Giay Station, the fare will be 14,290 VND. In case of cash payment, the fare for the second station is 9,000 VND and the last station is 15,000 VND.

The daily ticket price for these two railway routes is 40,000 VND/ticket and the weekly ticket is 160,000 VND/ticket. The monthly ticket for priority passengers is 140,000 VND/ticket and for non-priority passengers is 280,000 VND/ticket.

Also from August 1, the fare for multi-modal subsidized public passenger transport services by bus and urban railway in Hanoi will be 50,000 VND/day, 200,000 VND/weekly ticket. Monthly tickets, applied to priority subjects, will cost from 250,000 VND/month; 490,000 VND/2 months; 735,000 VND/3 months; 4 months will be 960,000 VND/ticket; 5 months will be 1,200,000 VND/ticket; 6 months will be 1,440,000 VND/ticket and 12 months will be 2,820,000 VND/ticket.

However, for non-priority subjects, the ticket price will also be higher. Specifically, a 1-month ticket is 500,000 VND/ticket; 2-month ticket is 980,000 VND/ticket; 3-month ticket is 1,470,000 VND/ticket; 4-month ticket is 1,920,000 VND/ticket; 5-month ticket is 2,400,000 VND/ticket; 6-month ticket is 2,880,000 VND/ticket and 12-month ticket is 5,640,000 VND/ticket.

Hanoi Metro also added that all the above ticket prices include passenger health insurance. At the same time, Hanoi Metro explained that the increase in ticket prices for these two urban railway routes is in accordance with the Decision of the Hanoi People's Committee on promulgating a multi-modal interconnection ticket plan for the public passenger transport system in Hanoi.
