According to VGA, the event is part of the official competition system of the National Team, and is one of the key goals of Vietnamese golf in 2025, along with the SEA Games and the Asian Youth Games (Youth Asiad).
The World Amateur Team Championships are held every two years, with the Eisenhower Trophy first taking place in 1958 and the Espirito Santo Trophy in 1964.
This is the most prestigious team tournament in the world of amateur golf, and has seen the participation of many legendary golfers such as Tiger Woods and Scottie Scheffler, golfers who once held the world's number 1 position.
According to the regulations, each team of 3 athletes competes in 4 rounds, with team results calculated based on the best total score of 2 out of 3 athletes in each round. The Vietnamese men's team will enter the tournament as the reigning Asia- Pacific champion, after a historic victory at the 2024 Nomura Cup.
