This is not only a theoretical ideology but also the practical spirit of the Vietnamese revolution, proven through the victory of the August Revolution, the Dien Bien Phu victory, the great victory of Spring 1975, and the renovation process from 1986 to the present.

In the context of globalization, opposing values are increasingly penetrating through many channels, so the Party's ideology is the compass, the fulcrum to maintain the country's development orientation. Reality shows that in countries that are swept away by pragmatic doctrines, far from the national foundation, many cultural values are lost, society is deeply divided, and injustice is increasing. Vietnam, thanks to its steadfast foundation of Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh's ideology, has maintained its independence and sovereignty , while constantly improving the people's lives.
The Party Congress's platforms, policies and guidelines have highlighted many new contents: national digital transformation, green economic development, circular economy, building Vietnamese people with comprehensive development and integration capacity in the context of the 4.0 industrial revolution. These orientations all originate from a solid ideological foundation, are creatively applied in specific historical conditions, ensuring sustainable, inclusive development and social progress.
Risks and manifestations of degradation and self-transformation in the new situation
The deterioration of political ideology, morality, lifestyle, “self-evolution”, “self-transformation” are serious endogenous risks, with the potential to cause sabotage from within if not identified and prevented in time. Manifestations such as revolutionary ideals, lack of confidence in the socialist goal, fading a pragmatic, individualistic lifestyle, and political indifference… are increasingly appearing in a significant number of cadres and party members.
The work of preventing and combating corruption and consequences continues to be promoted, with many new, positive, synchronous and more effective changes at both the central and local levels. Particularly in the maritime industry, there have been recorded cases of crew members violating labor discipline and the laws of the host country, affecting the image of Vietnamese workers in the eyes of international friends.

Not only that, when regularly exposed to Western culture and working under the management of foreign ship owners, crew members who are party members are at risk of being suspected or even deviating from the Party's guidelines and policies, and are easily drawn into false information, especially on social networks and reactionary media channels. If these manifestations are not promptly corrected, they will lead to a comprehensive degradation of political ideology.
The world situation is complicated, information warfare and psychological warfare are penetrating every corner of life, in which the main targets are cadres and party members, especially those working far from the homeland, with limited access to official information such as ocean-going ship crew members. In the rare conditions when ships dock at ports, Party members take advantage of the Internet to read resolution documents, write reports to send to the Party cell, and maintain two-way dialogue to keep the revolutionary fire burning. Party members clearly identify: the sea is vast and stormy, but people's hearts must be steadfast, the Party's ideological flag must always be present in the heart of every Vietnamese person, no matter which ocean they are on.
Affirm and protect core values
Protecting the Party's ideology also means preserving the achievements of the revolution, culture and traditions of Vietnam. Only then can we maintain peace and stability for development. Ships passing through strategic sea areas, geopolitical concerns such as the East Sea, the Strait of Malacca, the Suez Canal, the Arabian Sea... require crew members to maintain a firm political stance, be steadfast in the interests of the nation and people, and not be exploited or drawn into illegal activities or sabotage the country. The alertness of a party member at this time is not only a personal responsibility but also a manifestation of political consciousness and revolutionary moral qualities.
Protecting the ideological foundation also involves concrete actions such as promoting good people and good deeds, refuting false information, protecting the honor of the Fatherland, fighting against negative, and not supporting acts that affect the country's reputation. At the same time, each party member needs to flexibly apply the basic principles of Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh Thought to daily work: thoroughly solve problems, behaving humanely, and putting the common interests first.

Maintaining the Party's ideology means maintaining Vietnam's position in the hearts of friends and peace-loving people around the world, protecting the achievements of the revolution, preserving national values, and ensuring a solid future for future generations. To do that, it requires the synchronous participation of the entire political system, the exemplary role of each cadre and Party member - especially those who are working on the front lines of the country, thousands of nautical miles away from the mainland, but hearts whose hearts are always turned towards the Party and the nation.
