According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, on July 8, localized heat waves occurred in the Northeast and Central regions.

The temperature at 1 p.m. in some places exceeded 36 degrees Celsius, such as: Hoa Binh (Phu Tho) 36.3 degrees Celsius; Bac Me (Tuyen Quang) 36.2 degrees Celsius; Tinh Gia (Thanh Hoa) 36.7 degrees Celsius; Do Luong (Nghe An) 36.5 degrees Celsius and Cam Ranh (Khanh Hoa) 37 degrees Celsius.

In the next 24 to 48 hours, on July 9, the heat wave tends to develop widely, occurring in the Northeast region and the West of Phu Tho province with the highest temperature commonly ranging from 35-37 degrees Celsius, some places above 37 degrees Celsius. The Northwest region also experiences localized heat waves, with temperatures exceeding 35 degrees Celsius. The lowest relative humidity during the day is commonly 55-60%.

It is forecasted that from July 10, the heat in the Northeast region and the West of Phu Tho province will gradually decrease. However, on July 9 and 10, heat will continue to occur in the area from Thanh Hoa to Da Nang , the East of the provinces from Quang Ngai to Dak Lak and the North of Khanh Hoa province. The highest temperature is commonly 35-37 degrees Celsius, some places above 37 degrees Celsius, with the lowest humidity of 50-55%.

From July 11, the heat wave in the Central region tends to ease. According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, in the immediate future, people in these areas need to be alert to the risk of explosions and fires in residential areas and forest fires due to hot weather combined with low humidity and high demand for electricity.

Heat can also cause dehydration, exhaustion and heat stroke if you stay outside for too long.

Forecast temperatures may differ by 2-4 degrees Celsius from actual outdoor temperatures, especially in areas with strong heat-absorbing surfaces such as asphalt and concrete.
