(Fatherland) - On November 17, the House of Cinema Culture in Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam Film Institute) coordinated with the Ho Chi Minh City General Science Library to organize the Special Film Program "Cartoon Films for Children" in November 2024 through the activity of introducing and screening the cartoon "The Teacher of All Time".
This program aims to practically respond to the 42nd anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers' Day (November 20, 1982 - November 20, 2024); Exploit, popularize, and promote the historical and cultural values of animated films archived at the Vietnam Film Institute; Contribute to a healthy cinema playground for children in Ho Chi Minh City; And through the content of the activities, contribute to orientation, aestheticeducation , while serving the needs of learning, playing, entertainment and training skills in appreciating cinematic works for children.
The program will introduce and screen the 2D animated film "The Teacher of All Time" by director Vu Duy Khanh, produced by Vietnam Animation Studio in 2019. The film won the Silver Kite Award in 2020 and the Silver Lotus Award at the 22nd Vietnam Film Festival - 2021.
The film revolves around the character Chu Van An, who lived during the feudal period under the Tran Dynasty. He was an honest and upright mandarin and a talented and virtuous teacher who loved his students with all his heart. After submitting the "Seven-Execution Memorial" to propose punishment for corrupt mandarins who harmed the people but was not approved by the king, Chu Van An resigned from his position and returned to his hometown to open a class to teach and help the poor and studious people. His talent and virtue moved heaven and earth, making his student, the son of the water god, moved and determined to make rain and eliminate drought to help his teacher achieve his wish. Chu Van An, with his shining example of uprightness, honesty, and love for people, was praised by the people as "Van the su bieu" - meaning the eternal teacher of Vietnam.
Special Film Program "Cartoons for Children" November 2024
In addition, after watching the film, children can interact, receive gifts, share feelings and impressions about the film "The Teacher of All Time" and interactive activities "Teachers' Love". In particular, each family (parents and children) participating in the Program will make 01 spiritual gift to express their feelings and gratitude to teachers on the occasion of November 20.
