According to information from the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, 2024 is the year that the capital's education sector will continue to achieve many results, leading the country in terms of scale and quality of education.

Last year, the capital's education sector achieved many comprehensive results at all levels, schools, and types of education. The scale of education continued to expand and develop with about 2.3 million students, accounting for more than 10% of the country's students.

The whole industry currently has over 2,900 schools at all levels from kindergarten to high school, in addition to 29 vocational education - continuing education centers, and 1 school for training cadres.

One of the outstanding results of Hanoi education in 2024 is that the city's high school graduation rate reached 99.81%, an increase of 0.25% and 5 ranks compared to 2023. This is the highest result in the past 10 years of Hanoi. Notably, many valedictorians in this exam were candidates from Hanoi.

Notably, Hanoi students ranked first in the country in national excellent student competitions with 184 students winning prizes, an increase of 43 students compared to 2023.

In addition, Hanoi students also won 2 international Olympic gold medals in biology and chemistry. At the 2024 International Junior Science Olympiad (IJSO), Hanoi students representing Vietnam achieved excellent results with 100% of members winning medals (5 Silver medals, 1 Bronze medal).

Along with that, Hanoi is the leading unit in the country in terms of implementing digital transcripts at the primary school level with 97.6% of students from grades 1 to 4 successfully creating digital transcripts (more than twice the national average).

In 2025, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training aims to continue improving the quality of education and improving rankings in the high school graduation exam.

As this is the first year of the high school graduation exam under the new program, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training has reminded schools to carefully study the content of the graduation exam regulations, provide guidance and advice to students; and at the same time, make efforts in teaching, learning and reviewing to achieve higher results in this exam.
