World gold price today
As of 5:00 pm on July 6 (Vietnam time), the world gold price increased slightly by 9.79 USD compared to the previous closing price to 3,334 USD/ounce.
Gold prices have risen about 25% in the first half of 2025. This week, despite strong economic data, easing trade tensions were not enough to curb gold's rise as geopolitical risks and concerns over sovereign debt continued to push the precious metal higher.
The recent selling of the US dollar has continued to benefit gold, said Adam Button, head of currency strategy at Forexlive.com, who sees gold prices rising next week.
Rich Checkan, Chairman and CEO of Asset Strategies International, also commented that when the world is overspending and debt is increasing, the main solution that investors and people are looking for is gold, making gold prices more likely to increase in the near future.
For his part, Adrian Day, chairman of Adrian Day Asset, said: “A number of tariff agreements and speculation of a July rate cut by the US Federal Reserve (FED) and slowing central bank buying are likely to push gold prices lower. However, the precious metal will not fall significantly and will only fall in the short term.
This morning, the USD-Index increased slightly to 97.18 points; the yield on 10-year US Treasury bonds was at 4.328%; US stocks closed the week at a peak; world oil prices decreased slightly due to expectations of OPEC+ increasing oil production, trading at 68.30 USD/barrel for Brent oil and 66.49 USD/barrel for WTI oil.
